According to MLB rules, infield catches are not challengeable! On line drives? Well that's where the problem is... that's just stupid as hell. Good luck to them tonight... weird game. Seemingly not in the cards for us tonight. Catch plays in the outfield: An umpire's decision whether a fielder caught a fly ball or a line drive in flight in the outfield before it hit the ground is reviewable, but fly balls or line drives fielded by a defensive player in the infield is not eligible for review. www.mlb.com/glossary/rules/replay-review

Oh and before the doomsayers show up... We're still in first by double digits... .. some of our injured pitchers will be coming back... ... everyone should have known we would run into a patch of games where we played .500 ball.. ... and we will go on another ..650% winning percentage run for 25+ games I just wanna be clicking when October arrives.

You see it in government, business, you name it. It's like some moron in the room had to put in 2 cents worth and this was it. There's no possible rational explanation for why an infield catch isn't reviewable.

If each team got 10 reviews it would be a different story, but with just one, literally nothing should be off limits. Isn't that just common sense?

Yes...
The rules around replay are asinine.
My question on that play was what did the 2nd base ump actually call when the play happened. No one seemed to know until after they held their committee about it.

Post game Snit was asked about that play …. didn’t hear how the question was worded (loosely, why wasn’t it reviewed) but pretty sure Snit said “it was reviewable, they said it was caught” he looked like he was in a bit of disbelief … who reviewed, the umps?

It’s also possible he said “it wasn’t reviewable” and I my hearing failed me lol Still awful as it set the momentum of the game

There's no possible rational explanation for why an infield catch isn't reviewable. Not reviewable but able to be changed by an umpires meeting and the ultimate outcome is based on the changed call even though the whole play developed based on the original call. All the runners are running based on the call because it is a force play situation at all bases. If there were no outs, this could have easily been a triple play after the review. You cant make this stuff up!
