Riley was probably 15-20 feet towards home already, especially with his lead. I'm thinking he was heading back to 3rd and then saw the call and headed home because it was a force play situation and he had to run home. Ultimately though... he left 3rd early before the call was made. You can also argue that had the right call been made, the 2nd baseman wouldn't have tried to turn 2 at first and would have thrown to 3rd to get Riley out. So yeah... Riley might have reacted to a bad call, but so did the Sox 2nd baseman. Possibly but I doubt Riley was far enough off 3rd to double up. We never really got to see where everyone was when the call was made. It was all an umpire screw up that took 5 minutes to figure out yet everyone on the field had a split second to decide what to do. Kinda curious how they came up with the fact it was a catch when he was right in front of the play. How could anyone have a better view than that ump unless he changed his mind and called the meeting to determine what to do about it.

Again... that runner was ultimately on 3rd because Charlie ignored him when he was on 1st.

Sounds like a weird game. I've been mostly out of the loop this month between a long vacation and a death in the family, but the Braves are looking good for the most part. A dumb mistake is gonna wind up costing us big-time, though. Need to clean that up.

According to MLB rules, infield catches are not challengeable!

this is just a bad game by the Braves overall. Harris got a terrible break on that pop-up and loafed, allowing it to drop.
No way should that have fallen for a hit.

If they want to change the call to a catch, fine, but after that all actions after that should be nullified and all runners should retun to the bases they previously occupied. Changing a call and then making rulings based on the wrong call is just stupid!

Oh and before the doomsayers show up...
We're still in first by double digits...
.. some of our injured pitchers will be coming back...
... everyone should have known we would run into a patch of games where we played .500 ball..
... and we will go on another ..650% winning percentage run for 25+ games
