Our starting OF next year will be Acuna/Harris/Soler for the bulk, and I’m sure we’ll sign Kelenic cheap for at least 2or 3 years as a 4th OFer and a Laureano/Duvall/Anderson type RH bat OFer. So we’re cutting some corners there too. I wouldn’t sign Kelenic at all, I am not impressed to say the least. But Snitwit raved about him in spring trading while he was going 1 for 33 and forcing us to sign Duvall. He’s one of Snit’s baseball player guys so he’s going to be around. It’s great that he’ll be cost effective, but sucking offensively should be more important. And he does suck and it’s a good bet he will never be a decent big league hitter. With Acuna coming back I'm guessing he will need a lot of time off (he has said he will listen to his body) and Soler is weak defensively. I see Acuna, Soler, Harris and Kelenic (arb eligible) as a 4th outfielder who gets plenty of time spelling Acuna and Soler on defense while getting a good amount of starts against righties. I would like us to keep Laureano (arb eligible), if possible, and also Merrifield and/or Urshella as a backup IF. Urshella is a free agent and I'm not picking up Merrifield's $8M option. I would consider Merrifield at $2-3M after picking up his $1M option. Urshella I would give ~ $2M.

Zach Neto, the Angels SS would be a great fit but a pipe dream. He’s 23, cost controlled and a 3 WAR player so far this year. Seems to be decent with the glove, hitting .260 with 19 HRs and 22 SB, 118 wRC+

I’m pretty sure if Acuna can play by opening day he’s not going to sit very much, regardless of what he says now or what anyone else says now. He’ll sit 2-3 times a week for the first two or three weeks and then maybe once a week for another month and be off to the races. Kelenic has a .723 OPS this year against RHP and that makes his career OPS .708 against RHP. That leaves me as flaccid as seeing Hillary Clinton naked. At least with a guy like Duvall we can say he has an .820 OPS against LHP. A .708 career OPS is no reason to sign a guy and use him as a platoon player even if he’s decent with the defense. Hell, Rosario had a career .700 OPS against LHP and Snitker wouldn’t even let him bat against lefties.

Acuna was already slow. Imagine how much slower he'll be now after this injury.

Without looking up, I’d have to agree it’s Acuna … wish I could remember how many he had … 15 or more maybe? Kelenic had a flurry of them initially but doubt it’s him.. I give!!

The Giants placed Tyler Matzek on waivers.
Bring him home, Alex. Stick him in Gwinnett and see what he's got for next season.

Under reasons for concern, numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 should be: Snitker, Snitker, Snitker,Snitker and Snitker. But lord knows our writers think Snitker is the best manager in the history of the game.

It's pretty maddening.
I wish we could have a WAR value for managers.
