So surreal still that we are in position to have this tread. It still hasnt 100% sunk in yet that indeed it has been accomplished. Yeah, like I mentioned the other night. It's like when you were in high school and your girlfriend finally "let it go". You're like, WOW, now what??

Am currently rewatching the full game 6 upload on YT before MLB copy strikes it. Uploader has rhe prescience to remove the commercials as well. Trimmed actual game play time was 2hrs 59min. Commercials added an additional ~25 total minutes to the original game broadcast

Riley did a great job this year. I'd like to see him get the Ks down to the 125 range, but if he can't get there, I'm good with that, too. He's a fine young player. I'm very happy to have him!

I always believed in Riley because he struggled at every level at first and then became a juggernaut at every level. He clearly knew how to make adjustments. The most impressive thing to me about him this year is how often he was willing to understand/accept how they were going to pitch him and be willing to hit the ball up in the middle and the other way. He has such raw power he can drive the ball to any field so he doesn't need to be pull happy. A guy has to use the entire field nowadays to hit .280 or higher because of these shifts.
I think Riley is a smart hitter because he was particularly willing to hit the ball where it was pitched in game situations where we didn't need a home run. Conversely Duvall seems to have one mentally for every AB--caveman see ball, caveman try to hit home run over left field wall.
Look at how different these spray charts are for 2021, the first one is Riley and the second one is Duvall:

Riley could probably be a 45-50 HR guy, but that likely means a .220 average and over 200 Ks. I much prefer a guy in the .280 range with 100-125 Ks and 35 homers to that. I just think it's more productive. Hell, with his power, he might hit .280 with 100 Ks and still hit 45. I mean, he's still really young, so the sky's the limit.

He had 13 HRs and about 10 doubles to center and right field. Once he sees the results like that it has to make him more comfortable with not trying to pull everything, because he has power to the all fields. Those kind of guys are a pain to deal with. Pujols, Ryan Howard, Stanton, think how hard it is to pitch to guys like that. They gave us fits because there are plenty of times no matter how well you pitch them they’re going to burn you. When a guy is pull happy you have a set out pitch you can set up and beat him with. Riley can still be vulnerable to the breaking stuff away, but he’ll scorch you if you miss a little or if he’s sitting on it.

I say that because he looked like the old Riley chasing that low and away stuff on several occasions. He's forgiven, though............world championships will make a guy pretty damn forgiving, no? It's exciting to think about the future of this team with guys like Riley, Acuña, GAPOZ, and Dansby already established, guys like Pache, Langeliers, and Waters on the way, just to mention a few, and that's only the everyday players. Wright just might have finally found it, and Anderson, Fried, a healthy Soroka, and guys like Davidson and Mueller pushing hard. I'll never forgive the Braves for giving Wilson away for a guy they really have no plans for in Rodriguez, though. That was just asinine.

The parade just pulled in right outside of The Battery.
It was so cute seeing Gore being lifted up by Vogt so he could see the crowd better.
