Yeah, but it's hockey for chrissakes! Seriously though, I watched a bit of hockey this year. It's a very entertaining sport. I don't really understand some of the rules and I never played it. Those things work against hockey's commercial success. I had the misfortune of living near St. Louis for 6 years when I was a little kid, but it was right after they got their hockey team. So we became huge fans and it stuck with me my whole life. I played when I was young, but I had super weak ankles and could never learn to skate very well. Helluva a goal scorer but I couldn't skate and eventually had to give up as I got older and the other kids got even better at skating. I think you have to grow up with that sport to really develop a fandom for it. Hey, I do not understand all the rules but have been a hockey fan for over 50 yrs, got into it in that 1970 Boston Bruins stanley cup run and that was an area with a big hockey history and you had the two best players in the world at the time in Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito. I was more of a goaltender and enjoyed the one on one challenges. Did not go to far though. But I was a big fan of following the basic stats, etc To me I don't get the College Football craze but I did not grow up in the deep South. HS and CFB to me were secondary sports and still are to a degree though I follow UGA and GA Tech
