I can’t believe I have a watchable World Series now after coming so close to a totally disastrous matchup.

He's only 21 and just brought up this year and is doing well. He comes from my local area where I was born and lived for over 50 years. However, I don't have a preference who wins at this point.

These two teams have a combined .537 winning percentage and average 87 wins. Thanks to the MLB playoff format we have two mediocre teams playing in the World Series. I'll probably watch but I am not super enthused at this match up. That being said I see the Rangers winning in 6.

The only thing to be super enthused at is it's not the Asstros vs. the Faillies.
It's like being "super enthused" because you're in bed with ex Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago but hey at least it isn't Rosie O'Donnell!

It's the manager and player's job to get amped up and ready to go, and we failed at that. We went all out to win eleventy billion regular season games and then took a 12 day nap.

It's the manager and player's job to get amped up and ready to go, and we failed at that. We went all out to win eleventy billion regular season games and then took a 12 day nap. After we won 3 of 4 from the Dodgers in LA we came back and played pretty poorly the rest of the way after that. Once you take your foot off the accelerator it's such a struggle to get your momentum back. Despite the intersquad games, the 5 days off just made it that much worse. I can't say for sure what the answer is, but in my opinion it would go a long way to keep the players better rested during the regular season with regular days off and keep your bench guys sharp. One of the reasons I think that's a good idea is every manager has agreed with that thinking the last million years. Except one now, who insists on 7 or 8 guys not missing one AB all season and the bench guys getting one or two ABs per month. Derp.
I do think our regulars HAVE to feel beat down both mentally and physically by mid September, and once they had that chance to relax and not have that daily intensity and focus they never got it back.
Not that Captain Numbnuts will learn anything from it.

The issue is that it's our GOAL to win the division and then go from there. Snit has actually said that; the GOAL is just to make the post-season and then see what happens.
That is a terrible mind-set for a team of this talent level. He should say we're not here to just win regular seasons: It is this teams goal to win the WORLD SERIES. If that is our goal then getting into the post-season will take care if itself, especially in today's format.

2-2 in the bottom of the 2nd with Carroll on 3rd, motormouth Smoltz already has me turning the sound down.

This would be a really good time to make this point again, because it can never be brought up TOO often--in recent years the Cardinals have given up Sandy Alcantara, Zac Gallen, Adolis Garcia, Randy Arozarena and Lane Thomas......for which they have a grand total of 1 player left to show in return--Matthew Liberatore, a lefty pitcher who has pitched a grand total of 96 big league innings with a 5.51 ERA. All the players they've given up have become 3, 4 and 5 WAR players.
Talk about some mismanagement of players, LOL!!!
