Winning run at 2nd and the Rangers pull a Snit and send a guy up to the plate who hadn't had an AB in a month.
Struck out on 3 pitches.... imagine that.

Might be true...but Bochy and Snit should never be mentioned in the same sentence. No need to explain. Bochy has done so much more with less...While Snit has done so much less with more.

If we had Snitwit as a bench coach patting guys on the rear end and a real manager who knew what he was doing we would have won at least 5 World Series in this decade by the time it was over. As long as Snitwit is calling the shots we’ll have one title when it’s all said and done.

I'd give every starter regular days off. Nobody should start over 150 games. Keep regulars rested and reserves sharp. Lose a few more games? Maybe, maybe not. Divisions no longer matter. Sarge doesn't understand that and will never, ever do this. That's reason enough by itself to let him go......but we won't.

I'm telling you that the answer is right in front of you and Snit is proud of it.
He preaches the goal is to win the division.
We won the WS because we had 3 mid season additions whose goal was to win a WS. Freeman wasn't going to do it... nor was Swanson.
We won that WS because Rosario, Soler, and Joc came here and lit a fire. They made no assumptions they were signing long term deals; they just saw they came from losing situations and had a chance to do something magical and then go make some money.
As long as our goal is "win the division"... then that's our ceiling.

As long as our goal is "win the division"... then that's our ceiling. There's a valid point, one I have rarely mentioned, but I don't feel like Snitker did anything that deserved credit when we won the Series, but man did he get the praise heaped on him. The newcomers all got hot, had great playoffs and played with energy and confidence. The other thing that helped was our pitching did hold up as well, especially Will Smith. And I realize this COULD be a biased statement, but I don't even see how one could give Snitker credit for that, because it was stupid to stick with Smith the way he did. Smith was never good at any point that season, and he's not been good at any point since then. It was just literally totally blind luck that Will Smith held up......purely by the grace of God.
I honestly believe the baseball gods just felt sorry for us.....after the penalties we got during the Coppy/Hart era, for doing the same thing every other team was doing, then having the All Star game taken from us when we were going to honor Aaron, they just felt like we deserved a break.

Smoltz just gave away his Braves mentality raising......he said what this win does for Texas tonight is it allows Bochy to be selective who he uses from the pen tomorrow since tomorrow is not a must win game--in his words it allows the Rangers to reset and get lined up for game 5. So he's saying tomorrow is a throw away game. I can see tempering things a little, but to me you still go out all out with your big guns if you have to. If your big guns can't pitch three days in a row out of the pen at this point then that's ridiculous. The danger, as we all know all to well, is if you try to get your pen lined up perfectly by being willing to lose tomorrow, you run the risk of falling behind in games 5 and 6 and having your pen not even matter. Screw all that nonsense, do what you have to to win tomorrow and worry about the rest later.

I'm not really pulling for either team but maybe since the Texans are one of only six teams to not have won a WS it would be nice for them to win.

I was second guessing Smoltz implying that game 4 could be approached as a throwaway game for the Rangers so they can get their bullpen reset. I’ve always despised the throwaway game concept we’ve gone by, and how the heck can it be a good idea to look at any World Series game that way?

This was very Snitkerish for Arizona to go to Miguel Castro, he sucks and has been sucking in these playoffs, and he just ramped up his suckage. 3-0 Rangers in the 2nd inning of Game 4.

Wish we had a guy who could manage like Bochy.

Wish we had a guy who could manage like Bochy. Or at least one rung above tard level, even that would be really nice.

I read game 1 was the lowest rated viewership in WS history or something along those lines. I'm sure MLB is happy they opened up the gate on post-season mediocrity.
