Well, the fact is the only thing we can be surprised about here is that Elder pitched two flawless innings.
Everything else was predictable, right down to Ozuna pooping himself this whole series, twice killing us just tonight.

It amazed me they took so long to get the bullpen up. As soon as they saw his pitches were up, they should have got the pen up. Come on. This is Sarge. Nothing should amaze you by now.

Other than the anomaly of us winning game two... the Phils are far, far superior in execution. They are an Octobrr built team unfortunately.

We bring in the guy that's struggled the most with 2 guys on and pay. It would have been feasible to bring in Johnson right there and follow him with Jiminez and try to squeeze 2 and 1/3 innings out them and maybe more.
But Sarge can't think that way.
Or maybe Hernandez, since he pitched so well in the inter-squad games, lol......

Looks like the decision to start Elder backfired. Not sure what would have worked. Quite the quandry. Our pitching has just imploded over the last month or more. You got 1st half Elder for just 2 innings. Elder had to be so precise with his pitches to succeed. He was very precise for only 2 innings.

Charlie is sitting at home again collecting huge paychecks for nothing. Fried's pinky finger is sore. It sucks, but it wouldn't really matter who we are playing. Our pitching is in shambles.

Well, gotta tip the cap to Elder, he can't pitch to contact any more than that. That was the biggest meatball in the history of the game. I guess the only chance we have now is if they put Lorenzen in... He's not on the NLDS roster, at least I dont think he is. We're done.

This why I was hoping we would get another vet stating pitcher in case of injury. Oh well. It happens. 2 years in a row.

Tonkin now Hand warming. We're throwing the towel and counting on Strider and Fried to bring us home.

Let him go one time through the rotation and bring in another guy. That was your best chance..........but we don't have a manager. I don't blame Elder because he's just not that good of a pitcher.

I was surprised Tonkin and Elder were on the NLDS roster. Chavez at 80% would have been a better option IMO.

That was ball game right there with Ozuna striking out. On either AB.
