Winner of game one in a 5 game series wins the series 65% of the time... a rather ominous stat. If the Braves are world beaters like everyone claims they are, then they will defy those odds. Obviously...

Where were the Braves referred to as world-beaters?

We’re due to have a game where we score about 6 runs off of Wheeler and knock him out early, tonight wouldn’t be a bad time. I know he’s good but it seems like every time we face him he’s hitting on all eight cylinders with his stuff and location. Nobody can do that every time out. Not even Lorenzen.

Where were the Braves referred to as world-beaters? Greatest offense in history? Best collection of hitters since 27 Yankees? Just tied all time home run total in history... All three of those references denotes an historical feat... All the pundits ad nauseum talked about the Braves hidtoric offensive numbers... Ergo...World beaters.

I think that the best of 5 format, if kept, should be three home games in a row for bye teams. With the last two in the visitors park. This way the bye team up front, gets a weighted advantage they deserve. If the visiting team wins a game, then they HAVE to win the last two games in their park. It's not perfect...but helps the bye team imho... Problem is there is no ideal format with the rediculous best of 5 game series...

Well the offense numbers are just facts and it seems you have assigned the phrase world-beaters to go along with it. Some other things about this Braves team. One starter out. A second starter trying to come back having only pitched 1 game in the past 3 weeks. A pedestrian 2nd half bullpen, a stupid playoff format, and a dumbass manager.

Their bullpen...pardon the pun...look like world beaters. Hard throwers that are effective. And a manager who after a highly questionable pull of Suarez...now looks like a genius. Don't like any of those trends.

Braves against Wheeler on Sep 12...he's human 7 H, 6 ER, 3 HR, and just 4 K's in 5 IP

If you want to prove you're better than a division winner you should have to do it on the road. You had all year to win your division and gain a high seed. If you didn't then it should be hard for you to advance. If the higher seed can play ALL 3 games at home in the wild card round then 4 of 5 games at home in the NLDS isn't a stretch.

To be honest, I really wish we still only had 4 teams make it in each league. Money is the only reason it was ever extended, having half the teams make it like they do in hockey keeps the fans interested and keeps them buying tickets to games that shouldn't matter in "playoff" races. When teams at .500 make the playoffs, and they do in the NFL as well, that's ridiculous and bastardizes the game.
