Have to admit that I missed out on the miraculous ending. Couldn't bring myself to watch it after 4-0 and become even more unhinged. An hour later while lying on the sofa my wife (die hard Phils fan) said..."Damn it... you're gonna be happy... the Braves just won..." I could not believe it. I went to mlbtv and watched the condensed game. Actually I think a game like this to lose is more demoralizing than a blowout. For sure the Phils thought it was going to be 2 games to none. Didn't happen. Let's hope this momentum swinger carries over...Acuña and Olson are sooo due. Have to get out in front early and often... Even when disgusted, I keep tabs on what's going on so I can flip back when we are batting. I actually do the same. I was admittedly VERY pessimistic last night, but was somewhat buoyed by the fact that we held them after run #4. When d'Arnaud went deep, I had hope, and when Riley showed his FREAKISH power with that one-handed homer, I went nuts. Needless to say, the game-ending play was simply phenomenal. I've watched it a dozen times, probably. All I could say was "damn, what an amazing play". It's more than amazing, it's iconic, especially if the Braves go on to win the series. That's a big IF, though............lots of work to do yet.

FYI from what I can tell Smith-Shawver has only pitched a total of 9 innings since August 15th and wasn't good. Not horrific but not very good, which makes me wonder why he's a better option than old Winans once again.
Smith-Shawver has only pitched once since September 22nd and that was only 3 innings.
So.......in line with all that never makes and sense with Snitker, why is he on the roster to begin with and why would you consider starting him in game 3?
I read he pitched great in the exhibition game(s).

I read he pitched great in the exhibition game(s). Well if so I don’t know why these clowns suddenly put so much emphasis on a couple of meaningless inter squad games, especially after being so stingy with personnel decisions for years. That’s how Hernandez made it.

I had actually sworn off hockey season by the end of the 6th inning I was so disgusted, but I didn’t join the belly aching here because deep in my heart I knew to never give up on these guys.

I read he pitched great in the exhibition game(s). We hit great in the exhibition games as well. I heard a janitor at the facility caught a foul ball and Snitker wanted to play him in LF for the first game of this series.
