And now, with that Gran Slam---7-0 lead, 7th, it looks like we are playing the damn Phillies. I had hoped it would,s have gone 3 games, instead of 2. I don't mind playing anyone, I just wish once we could go into the playoffs with a healthy pitching staff, especially starting pitchers. Didn't we start a minor leaguer one year and didn't Minter start and pitch 4 innings once? I think so

David O'Brien @dobrienatl · 15s For the second year in a row, the #Braves will face the wild-card Phillies in the NLDS. Philly swept two from the Marlins in their Wild Card Series. Like last year, Philly will come in on a recent surge.

Justin Toscano @justinctoscano · 43m We’ll have a rematch: Braves-Phillies in the best-of-five NLDS. Game 1 is Saturday, Game 2 is Monday. Both are at Truist Park. The game times haven’t been announced, but they won’t have the 1 p.m. slot.

Grant McAuley @grantmcauley · 2h The scheduled off days in the NLDS would allow #Braves to throw Spencer Strider and Max Fried twice on regular rest should the series go 5 games.
Spencer Strider: Game 1 (Saturday 10/7) Game 4 (Thursday 10/12)
Max Fried: Game 2 (Monday 10/9) Game 5 (Saturday 10/14)

Phillies oust Marlins, rematch with Braves next in NLDS Todd Zolecki 5 minutes ago
PHILADELPHIA – Bryson Stott barreled the baseball, leaned back and watched.
He watched the grand slam that sent the Phillies to the NL Division Series land in the right-center-field seats at Citizens Bank Park in Wednesday night’s 7-1 victory over Miami in Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series. Stott’s first career grand slam buried the upstart Marlins, who hoped to be this year’s version of the 2022 Phillies.
Stott savored the moment.
Then he slammed his bat into the turf.
The party was on.
NLDS Game 1, presented by Booking.com: Saturday on TBS But the business is not finished. Far from it. The Phillies are not just happy to be in the postseason. They want to win the World Series. They will take their next step in a NLDS rematch against the Braves beginning Saturday at Truist Park in Atlanta.
The Phillies this week played the Marlins like a team that is ready to win.
Aaron Nola pitched seven scoreless innings in Game 2, 24 hours after Zack Wheeler allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings in Game 1.Wheeler and Nola both at their best? It could give the Braves fits.
But the Braves will see neither pitcher in Game 1. It is likely to be left-handed Ranger Suárez, although no announcement has been made. Wheeler will pitch Game 2 on Monday. Nola would pitch Game 3 next Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park.
The Braves are expected to pitch Spencer Strider in Game 1 and Max Fried in Game 2.

My proposal for MLB: - The WC/WC winner should be penalized for only being a WC, by having less time off - The WC/WC series should be a day after the Div/WC series, but same start date as Division series - #1 starter for WC winner starting game 2 isn’t a huge difference, as he can start game 5 on regular rest. Bye team earned a bigger advantage IMO - Would avoid current scenario where’s there no baseball now until Saturday

Why do the Astros get out of playing the Texans who are in their division but the Braves have to play the Phillies who are in their division?

My fears are, in this order:
1) Snitker 2) Snitker 3) Snitker 4) Yates 5) McPuke 6) Our entire pitching staff--it's capable of being great, horrific, and anywhere in between

Well the WC series were for the most part non-competitive flops.

Spencer Strider: Game 1 (Saturday 10/7) Game 4 (Thursday 10/12) Max Fried: Game 2 (Monday 10/9) Game 5 (Saturday 10/14) That's some screwed up scheduling for a sport in which a game is played virtually every day for 6 months.

It's also screwed up to have the division winner with the best record playing the highest seed that makes it out if the WC round.
The Dodgers get rewarded for finishing with the 2nd best record.

Wish this Ranger game would end so I can watch the Astros. Altuve already had a 1st inning lead off homer. The only reason for watching the Rangers was to watch Evan Carter.
