The call to the pen works. Actually uses the appropriate guy in the appropriate situation for once. I'm going with the blind squirrel theory on that. LMAO yup. Usually finds a Tomlin or newcomb for that spot, this time found Matzek. A dead clock is right twice a day, but it seems Snit being right is even rarer.

We have a platoon player, Joc, and 3 bench players in the starting lineup every night. We need another big bat and a guy like Marte to get more consistency.

Will Smith in to pitch the bottom of the 7th, 2-0 slim lead.

Dunno if it would help this year at this point, but definitely would be a good grab for 2022. But LM and AA actually going for that? Small odds.

Maybe they could go after him in the off season. Not sure the Marlins would deal him in the division unless you gave them way too much.

Home run Smith tried to make the game closer but Almonte caught it anyway.

I would have left Matzek in and saved Homerun for next game. Matzek's a big guy I'm sure he can pitch more than one inning. Homerun almost screwed the pooch already.

Actually Joc has look pretty descent against left hand pitching since he has come to Atlanta. I dont know the exact numbers, but the at bats I have seen, he has gotten a few hits, and more important he has put up fairly consistent quality at bats. He has been better then I haad hope. I remember with LA, he was constantly striking out all the time against left handed pitching. I think he has only struck out something like 6 out of 32 or so at bats since coming here. If stays like this, I be ok with him playing out the year against LH and RH (Not like we have better options anyways). Edit: had a few minutes and looked up the stats and I am shocked by this. Joc is actually batting .286 in 78 PA against lefties, .220 in 200 PA against righties...

Worse comes to worse, as I have been pining about time and time again this yr is just why not try Demerritte? He can give you as much as the three bench players. We do not know what we have in Demerritte but he has worked hard and done well in AAA. I do like Joc though, the HR threat is always there. His numbers in 2018 and 19 were quite good. I would want to keep him for 2022
