SMH That first pitch to Leòn was a gopher pitch. I'm too old for Will Smith pitching. I thought he was better than he is. He's just not that good. Very disappointing acquisition.

Why do we keep bringing this guy in? He sucks. Snitker thinks he looks like one of them baseball closer pitcher guys.
He'll be in there to close tomorrow again and every time we have a close game at the end.
It was carved in stone before the season started.
Haven't you been paying attention to this pattern for the last thirty years?!?!?!?

Kudos to Contreras in the 9th, he blocked either 3 or 4 balls that were in the dirt. His normal ratio is to block about one out of very three in the dirt so this was a GOOD inning for him!

After the poor start Smyly has been useful

Wasn't it an "interesting" move to pinch hitter Pablo instead of Adrianza in the bottom of the 8th with a runner at second base and one out? Adrianza is 3 for his last 6 with a triple and a HR, whilst Pablo is on his 1-24 and 2-30 streak.

Touki got bombed again tonight, 5 hits, 5 BB's, 6 earned runs in 2.2 innings.
Waters two hits including a double, Pache 1-4 with a double, Alex Jackson hit 2 HR's. He's missed three weeks two different times this year, so he only has 46 AB's but he has 7 HR's now. He had a 3 HR game at the end of May: .239/.321/.783/1.103

If Ronald had hit a gapper he would have only gotten a single.

Touki and Newcomb have certainly shown why they were let go by their previous organizations. Jackson hasn't hit major league pitching at all, but could yet, I suppose. All that Coppy action just didn't net the Braves a whole lot, did it?

I haven’t given up on Jackson yet but he needs to make something happen in the next couple years. He was the 6th overall pick in the 2014 draft. I don’t think he has a prayer to hit over .230, about half the league doesnt these days, but he’s hitting moon shots. None of them are cheapies. He is showing a new confidence level right now.

All that Coppy action just didn't net the Braves a whole lot, did it? I will stick to my guns in that Coppygate was a blessing in disguise and we are much better off with out Hart/Coppy and their snug arrogance And who knows who would have been the manager cause Snitker was nearly on his way out, he had his falling out with Hart. Who knows how the next manager would have handled the development of Acuna, Ozzie and the team in general. Would a Bud Black been the right kind of guy, that was one of the names we were hearing. Would he have has a better overall record? We will never know. Okay, we get on Snit with his questionable X and O moves and seemingly laid back personality but when it comes to the bottom line, he is lasted longer and has a better overall record than we could have imagined during the rebuild. AA is not perfect but he is quite competent and respected in the industry and I much prefer he being in charge of my favorite baseball team. The one thing AA brought is pride and respect in the Braves organization. And, in spite of this slow first half, we have had 3 yrs of winning - that is the main bottom line.

Because he is a catcher I might say keep him around longer than you would say, an outfielder or first baseman. You never know when you need an organization depth catcher and in a couple of yrs he might be just as good as some of the journeyman guys who are out there That D Arnaud injury really set us back. And who knows if Contreras is ever going to be servicable defensively. I might give Jackson a chance at being as good as the Famous Leon. As for Touki, we have seen that scene over and over again. What are they trying to salvage, wet sheetrock? Really time to scrap that project

I don't know what his two injuries were this year, but he's way more confident at the plate than I've ever seen him.
