The media pundits never learn. Every time a team spends a bunch of money they immediately name them the favorite. Funny how it almost never works out.

Soler's homer ranked 10th on the Top 100 plays for 2021. LMAO. The sports media has gotten so that it's just as biased as the rest of the media. 10th??? What a friggin joke!

Throw enough of the sticky stuff against the wall and some of it will stick If not this time maybe the next. Sure is fun in the off season but when it starts well ------------ ?? Obviously they think it will work this time. Yea right but we will see. History is on our side for now (Braves) but guess they think doing it this way gives immediate gratification If I were a Mutt fan I admit that I would buy and drink that Kool-Aid cause its immediate excitement. Of course I would crash and burn in September with the yr by yr disappointment. Who the H wants to wait 4 to 6 yrs for prospects. That will generally not fly in NY or some other towns. That crazy money temporarily soothes the impatience - being patient sucks but that is just me and my Northeast mindset I understand that excitement. Its wanting it now

The thing about using your farm system a lot is it builds unity on the team, that chemistry thing that is so elusive but so important. Mutts fans will never understand why they’ve been our bitches all these years, and they are bitter. But yet they still want to keep doing things the same way over and over and then can’t figure out what went wrong. Derp. They had a scary group of pitchers for awhile but other than that they’ve just annually been a joke, and we can bet on it happening again in 2022. They find ways to fall apart every year.

Major League Baseball has proposed expanding the postseason field to fourteen teams in collective bargaining discussions with the Players Association, reports Jesse Rogers of ESPN. That’s hardly a surprise, as Commissioner Rob Manfred has publicly advocated for expanding the playoffs (reportedly preferring a 14-team setup) going back to last year, when the league and MLBPA agreed to a 16-team playoff during the shortened 2020 season.
Under the proposed format, the top seed in each league would receive a bye — as is the case with the NFL’s current structure. However, Rogers adds that MLB’s proposal would allow the other two division winners in each league to choose which Wild Card team they’d prefer to face in the first round, which would take the form of a three-game series. The division winner with the second-best record in each league would have its pick of any of the four Wild Card clubs in its league; the final division winner would pick to face one of the other three Wild Card teams; the two Wild Card teams remaining would face one another.

Hate this idea. If they want to expand, just have three wild cards and have them play in a best of three along with the lowest seeded division winner. Then have the winners play a best of five against the top two seeds. It gets rid of that crazy one game playoff and basically adds two series per league. Hence, more money which is the only reason they are talking about this anyway.

I think that is a bigger deal than most might imagine, and it's really a bunch of BS. They can't have different teams playing with different balls that react differently off of bats.

It appears melancon wanting to be closer to family and playing for a winner was malarkey. He just signed with the Diamondbacks on a 2 year contract. I think he just simply didnt want to be in Atlanta.
