With his lineout in the top of the eighth, Pablo Sandoval is now in a 1-for-22 skid. As a pinch hitter, Sandoval is now 6-for-39 with four home runs.

When you look at the bullpen we really only lost Melancon and O'Day. Melancon wasn't coming back and O'Day only pitched 16 innings. It's more a matter of nonperformance as related to last year. Very true, but we did bet on some guys who had outlier great years to reproduce those years. Another big issue is that both of those losses came from the right handed side of the pen, with nothing but garbage replacing them. That forced an over dependency on the left-handers. One left hander being Smith who now had to take over for Melancon having shown he was shaky: Minter who had an outlier year in 2020, and Newk who has never been consistent. So yeah... it was only those two guys, but there was a cascade of things that followed losing two solid pieces that were top choice right-handers.

Who was the poster who used to purposefully leave blank posts?

Can be good one year and mediocre the next. I think the Braves thought guys like Webb, Ynoa, and Nate Jones could pick up the slack. Ynoa could have really helped but he was forced into starting.
