Our guys better have one of those crazy good crooked number offensive nights. We hope.
Hey, Wright gets another chance, we will see. Can't hit 4 batters tonight. Johnny Whole Staff be on alert. Everybody be ready to be needed.
Yes, that includes the likes of Tomlin too
Really need to finish this series with 3 out of 4.
Frustrating year for Fried with injuries - he really has been top of the rotation guy as of late we need him healed

What's frustrating is what they said last night about how if it was a crucial situation, he could pitch and this is precautionary.
At what point does this team begin to look at games as crucial?
• 70 some odd games in and they have never been above .500
• This is a chance to either pick up 2 games on the division leader, or leave the series no better off than when they began it.
Blister heal time isn't going to really get any longer. If it's a 10 game stint right now then it would be a 10 game stint if done tomorrow if it still proved necessary. So what game is more crucial? This one, or the one on July 5th vs the lowly Pirates?
It just seems to me that at this point in the schedule with this situation, a "precautionary" trip to the DL is a bit overly cautious. Overall it just seems to fit with a feeing that there is no sense of urgency with this team. They seem to be looking at things at game 73 against the team they have to catch to make the post season no differently than they did game 23 against Arizona.

I think a lot of people have bought in to the misconception that there is an inevitable 10 game win streak that will propel the Braves to first place.
I have seen nothing this season that cries out championship run. Too much inconsistency in hitting and pitching. Managerial goofs galore. Bargain basement shopping. This team may have had “it” the last few seasons but “it” has left and “it” doesn’t appear to be coming back anytime soon.

hello forum, why is freddie freeman batting in the 2nd hole in the line up? he is a clean up hitter to drive in runs.

hello forum, why is freddie freeman batting in the 2nd hole in the line up? he is a clean up hitter to drive in runs. When throwing some crap against the wall last year, the offense had a couple of good games after throwing Freddie into the two hole. Snitker assumed this was more than coincidence and attributed it to his genius managerial prowess. I would note however that Freddie has never really been used in the cleanup spot. It doesn't make a bit of sense to me though because you have your historically two best RBI guys batting back to back attempting to knock in non existent base runners from the bottom 3rd of the lineup.

I would love to see this lineup for a few games
2B Albies SS Swanson RF Acuna 1B Freeman 3B Riley LF Almonte C Contreras CF Heredia
I think it would give Ronnie and Free more opportunities to bat with runners on, thus giving us more scoring opportunities.

Not a bad suggestion, but I don't know about GAPOZ leading off or Dansby batting 2nd for that matter. Both are free swingers who do some great things at times, but their career OBPs are not very high. Also, Acuña seems to want to hit the ball 1,000 feet in RBI situations, and he's even more prone to overswing with runners on than he is with his normal swing for the fences approach. Acuña seems to thrive at the lead-off spot, but I don't disagree with him having more RBI opportunities. It's a moot point with Sarge anyway, so there's that.

I really think Dansby hitting second would be ideal if he could be halfway consistent and not strike out nearly as much, but I’ve long ago given up on either one of those happening.

I think he's so fully bought into the Seitzer aggressive hitting approach that he's hopeless as a top of the order hitter. His career OBP is about .317 and about .287 this year. He almost never walks. Call me old school, but I still think you want guys at the top of the order to be high OBP guys, and that's what we have with Acuña and Freddie.

He's on base a lot, and that moves Acuña down to 2nd, where he would need to be more patient. Acuña is terrific when he's patient. Frazier is a Georgia boy, too. I'd throw Waters at the Bucs and see what happens.
