Spring Training: 'Intriguing' prospect William Woods impressing Braves manager As Spring Training rolls along and the Braves solidify their roster, there will be players destined for minor league ball that turn heads. Maybe they aren't quite ready to break camp with the big club, but their time is near. William Woods seems like one of those prospects, especially after he struck out all three batters he faced on Wednesday in Atlanta's 5-3 loss to the Red Sox. If that's not impressive enough, he only needed nine pitches to strike out the side. “He’s impressing me, I’m gonna tell you that,” said Braves manager Brian Snitker. “The first side I saw the kid throw, I’ve been excited about watching him pitch. I kind of feel like there’s more in there once he gets established." A non-roster invitee, Woods was taken in the 23rd round of the 2018 draft by the Braves. In 51 innings of work in 2019 at Single-A Rome he fanned 58 batters. He's only pitched in 30 professional games, but he's already being whispered about as a potential bullpen weapon in Atlanta. The question is when. Multiple reports from Florida have Woods throwing a 99 MPH fastball and mixing it with nasty secondary pitches. “I looked at his numbers because he’s an intriguing kid," said Snitker. "The first time I saw the delivery in a side, and how the ball was coming out. The slider probably wasn’t that great today like it’s been, but you know I say, I just look at his delivery and think there’s more in there.” Two comments from Snitker's report on Woods' outing piqued interest. He struck out three batters on nine pitches with a slider "that wasn't great," and the Braves manager thinks "there's more in there." www.radio.com/929thegame/sports/atlanta-braves/intriguing-prospect-william-woods-impressing-braves?fbclid=IwAR3jnC6xCa7aWUQFsETwfSG5_G2relXx35V9bClsXi92pLs33rggV8_ugjE

He'll impress everyone but Snit will opt for the Veteran Presents of Luke: "We just like Luke's experience... he's been there before.. baseball guy leadership..." You better be ready to give a Nick Markakis professional level AB when you go up to the plate to face Luke.
Or......just equip yourself with the knowledge that 85% of his pitches are going to be breaking balls.

A career wRC+ of 91 and he's a "slugger" according to that article?
Please say no to this Failed Faillies castoff piece of crap.
For $800K he's looking like a better alternative than Lamb is right now for $1M!

That's more what I was talking about.

For $800K he's looking like a better alternative than Lamb is right now for $1M! Yeah but I'll take my chances with Lamb, he has a higher potential, I just see Franco as a complete doucher and lifetime Faillies failure. "Just don't want" is my personal opinion on that Faillies filth!
It's probably not that big of a deal either way, Lamb isn't a very good defensive player so we probably wouldn't get a whole lot out of either one of them.

He has a pretty hawt wife, so I'm pretty sure he's ok in life regardless of what any of us think!
Ozuna's old lady is the proverbial "built like a brick sh**house" woman! She was arrested on domestic abuse charges for hitting him in the face with a soap dish right before or right after he signed with us in the summer of 2020. I don't think anything ever came of that.
She has wayyyyyyy more exit velocity and power than Ender:
By the way, Marcell appears to have done alright for himself at the dinner table this past offseason.....

Give me Mrs Julio. Ozuna's wife is just a bit much for this old codger. There are some niiiice pictures out there of Julio's wife in bikinis that I did not post out of respect. Yikes!
If I had his wife and Julio had ball bearings in his ass we'd both be rolling!
