Danny Santana signed with the Red Sox today. Sorry, Uck. But Nick is still an option for the final 26! Danny Santana has to be one of the most interesting statistical players in the history of the game. He has produced two super solid seasons (he got killed on WAR in 2019 because of his defense but his offense was solid), but then all of his other seasons have been complete disasters. Man you either get an offensive stud or a total dud from year to year with him, there's no in between.

I don’t understand why they’re even tracking wins and losses for Spring Training. I got no problem with the short games, 20 pitch innings etc., but keeping up with wins and losses for these games, which has always been dumb, is now even dumber.

You're right it's always been dumb. I remember as a kid, I was a Washington Senators fan. Every year they would be near the top of the Grapefruit League standings, giving us hope that "this is the year"! The regular season would start and within a month they would be twenty games behind the first place Yankees. 😃

Dansby without bases loaded double in the bottom of the first. 3-0 Braves over the Red Sox. Charlie Morton making his Braves debut.

Carl Edwards Jr?
He makes my team over Tomlin or Puke.

Tomlin is basically a coach at this point

Carl should make it based on his burgers alone.

History was made today--we struck out Willians Astudillo. It was ST. He gets that 1 a season out of the way early before it counts. Don't blaspheme Willians up in here. I still have faith one day AA will bring him home.

Not a good day at CoolToday Park for the Braves. Drew Smyly in his second appearance this Spring was shelled giving up 5 earned runs on 8 hits in 2 innings. Bryse Wilson didn't fair much better giving up 2 runs in one inning. Meanwhile the Braves bats have been silenced. No runs and no hits through four complete. Pirates 7 Braves 0

I have some degree if concern that Acuña's wrist injury may become chronic. In an interview he claimed it was all healed up, but then went on to say if it flared up again he would just do as he did last season (somewhat ineffectively, mind you), and just play through the pain.
It was odd language. Not "Yeah it's all behind me and I'm ready to go", instead opting to immediately talk about his plans if it starts bothering him again. To me it came across as if it may be a lingering issue with him not being 100% confident it's behind him, and it definitely affected his performance last year.
That's my big concern right now.... what is yours?
Bench? Pen?
