"Lars is the ultimate d-bag. "ck then
I can't see anyone ever arguing that fact and fans still aren't over Napster. Truth is I found him annoying long before that incident, pretentious ass. I do like James though and the band were a big part of my teen years up until the Black Album. But those first 4 albums and garage days plus the bootlegs were great back then and I was a huge Cliff Burton fan.

I’ve never read any Clive Barker, but I’ve seen Hellraiser.. does that count for anything? Horror really isn’t something I’ve ever been interested in. That definitely counts lol. Barker is really more than a horror writer. Far more talented than the Stephen King types. He creates other worlds and draws you....sometimes they are scary though

Yeah books like Imajica are real works of art and the man is highly intelligent with an incredible imagination. draws a lot on William Blake ect
read his epics..it's a whole different world compared to his horror short stories

Jah is right, if you're going to try him go for something like Imajica or Sacrament. His short stories are more horror, but his novels tend to step very outside that. He's quite brilliant, I've always thought it strange he chose the horror genre, but it works

I did like James a lot too until I started watching some documentaries and learning more about him, I was surprised to see how much of a bitch he can be. You’re right their early stuff was great, and I like some of their other stuff along the way. I really enjoyed the “Load” album, the one that pissed their diehard fans off so much because it wasn’t as hardcore as their previous stuff.

I can't cite anything specific, I just recall seeing them all bicker and whine about really stupid little things a lot, and I couldn't believe guys who had accomplished what they had would act like a bunch of spoiled bratty little girls. I always thought of James as a badass, and then I see him complaining over stupid little meaningless things, it just seemed out of place.

got ya and it was no big deal I was just curious. I never really thought of him as the bad ass type but likable, nice and a reasonably intelligent guy. he did go through some serious alcohol and drug issues, had kind of an odd childhood with religion( his mom died being untreated for cancer due to it)
the Some Kind of Monster documentary is an interesting look at them with James just out of rehab ect

The ones I saw were older, they were younger and hadn't matured as much probably.
But if you look around music, especially rock, with most of these really famous bands they're pretty immature and don't handle things well at all. Sometimes it almost seems like that's a good thing, if they keep the turmoil up they make better music anyway.
I just think of whiny bitches like Axl Rose, and comparatively I figured James would be more of an ass kicker than a guy to whine about stupid little things, but again those were things I saw a pretty long time ago.

Talking about James Hatfield, it’s like this... portrayed as this badass, but laid back and cool.... and then you see him incessantly whining to some poor schmuck stage manager about the brand of bottled water that was in the ready room.

Yeah exactly and then it was something like the kind of food that they had backstage, they were upset about it, and instead of just tearing the room up and kicking some people's asses they whined about it like little girls. Then there were little petty arguments about different things, just silly stuff for those kind of guys to be acting like that. Ah well.....
