He was so much like Bobby it was scary. I admit up front, I'm "one of those fans" that thought BC was overrated as a manager--- did less with more in the playoffs than I can remember. No hate intended, but I was as invested a fan from 1989 on as anyone, and I believe to a certain extent Bobby helped cement the "Runner-Up" or "Lovable Loser" mentality in our fair city as anyone in history. That said, I liked the Frego pick at the time, and never hated on him. He DID however, do the same stuff that Bobby was famous for---sitting a hot bat due to the L-R splits, pull starters too early, leave relievers in too long, use the wrong PH, stick with vets on the decline, and countless other infuriating decision/non-decisions. The better question is, is the next Braves' manager on the current staff now? I was not a Bobby fan. Much of his success happened because he believed in players and stuck by them no matter what. Each starter knew he had a job and a certain place in the batting order and that he could count on it the whole year no matter how badly he did. I don't think that's a great idea. It did help a lot of guys, but we also had times where guys should have been benched or moved in the batting order and they weren't and it hurt us. And it seemed to bite us several times in the playoffs. And I don't think he was very good at making in game decisions, and at times was terrible at it. And a lot of his success was thanks to Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine and Chipper. Of course you just let guys like that play. But that doesn't work for everybody.

If memory serves, he left 34 HR, 93 RBI Ryan Klesko on the bench in the 96 World Series because (it seemed like) the Yankees started Andy Pettite three straight games. That was one of his egregious mistakes, if I recall that correctly.

If you remember he sat klesko for Andruw Jones. That decision worked out well.

Danny Santana has gone into a slump. Preston Tucker is blowing his doors off. Has Tucker earned at least a temporary starting job in LF? At least against RHP?

If you remember he sat klesko for Andruw Jones. That decision worked out well. Other than the fact we lost 4 straight and the series while 30+ homers sat on the bench, I agree with you. A.J. was pretty special. I remember Bobby not being a huge fan of Klesko, and I recall Brian Hunter being misused also, but my memory isn't what it once was.

Kazmir done. Looks like 4 man rotation until Gohara is ready or Sanchez takes the role.

Sanchez I imagine... long relief and maybe a spot start or 2 until Gohara is ready.
I sort of thought this might happen when Sanchez was picked up.
