Da COVIDS..
They don't want the players sitting together in a clubhouse for 2 hours.

Just got back from dinner with friends. Can't believe they called the game. With all the missed games this was really a strange move. The heavy rains were dissipating at game time and there was only going to be relatively light rain and drizzle until about 9 PM. IMO, in a 7 inning game the Braves lose the advantage late of working against the Phillies bullpen if they are behind.

We have an official weatherman. I'm waiting on him! Sorry, busy today and out this evening. I knew there would be storms around (we've had off and on showers here in south central PA all day) but never imagined them cancelling tonight as it wasn't going to be an ongoing rain event or even a heavy one as we moved later into the evening although there was always a the chance for another heavier shower later. My guess is they just didn't want to deal with the light rain and the possibility of a shower later too, player injury etc. I don't think they would have done this in a normal season.

They said on the telly that it was da COVIDS..
They are going to call games quickly because they don't want players sitting around together in a locker room. Plus the prospect of a DH is not as bad with already expanded rosters and the games only being 7 innings.

Weather was going to be out of there and they could have had a solid hour to dry the field enough. They could have played tonight 100%.

We've had trouble in Philly before with rain delays.

Delay makes more sense now. Didn't want anybody staying in u the clubhouse any longer than necessary due to covid. Was wondering why they postponed with the rain moving out.
