I think the pressure is on the Cardinals to beat up the usual failure of the Braves in October

Ok I'm tired of punching myself in the nuts over and over about the games we've already played in this series, I'm moving on now and just looking forward to game 5 and new reasons to punch myself in the nuts. Wait, I mean I'm looking forward to game 5 and a triumphant victory for us! GO BARVES!!! Don't punch your nuts, tickle your nuts. With a feather. Your suggestion worked for me, so why are you doing this to yourself? We need all Braves fans physically and mentally healthy. BTW I'm taking off tomorrow, I've held off on these days off for these moments. I got the whole week off next week so we really need to advance!

Well, I'm going into the game expecting another disappointment, so if we happen to win, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I guess I'm conditioned to that given all the past failures in these situations. BUT...........go Braves!!

I legit despise this guy
Dallas Keuchel and the Braves are squaring off against the Cardinals in a memorable NLDS, but the left-hander recently told Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he’s surprised the Redbirds didn’t make a bigger effort to sign him when he was a free agent from November to June. “Honestly, I was fully expecting an offer from them,” said Keuchel. “Just never really came about.” Keuchel, whom the Braves signed to a one-year, $13MM deal after a protracted standoff between him and the entire league, added that he viewed St. Louis as “a good destination,” which could be notable with the soon-to-be 32-year-old set to hit free agency again in the coming weeks. Meantime, his club will try to eliminate the Cardinals in a do-or-die Game 5 on Wednesday.

Keuchel seems to overestimate his value, I'll say that much.

We need to get an early lead. Whoever falls behind early will have to go into panic scramble survival mode. Let it be them.

We need to hit the damn ball. Keep it simple. As my old coach used to say "load, slot, swing". Stop thinking and just hit the damn thing like you know you can. Geezus.........

BUT...........go Braves!! Hope for the best. Expect the worse. It’s the mantra of Braves playoff baseball. The Braves are built on a philosophy of long-term thinking, and in the regular season you can't argue with their success. However, it doesn't work in the playoffs. Take Monday's game, for example. First dumb move was pinch-running Fried. Why do that?? Then, we have a 1-run lead going into the 8th inning, and we get cute by letting a lights-out Tomlin pitch to the first hitter and THEN bringing in Greene. Of course, Fried isn't available, we're SAVING him for game 5, I guess, which is the wrong way to thing in the first place (ain't gonna be no game 5, cause I'm ending this sheet today is how you should think, IMO). I'm sitting there thinking WHY is he doing that? Tomlin's thrown 10 pitches, maybe this is his moment, let it ride. Geezus. Just typical Braves's postseason bullsheet. It's so damn frustrating.

In retrospect. I'm glad we saved Fried or else he wouldn't be available today. Also, I'm not going to give Snit too much grief about pulling his long reliever and putting in his setup/closer type guy against the heart of the order. A broken bat double and a perfectly placed blooper tied the game. It wasn't cause Greene was ineffective per se.
Again, if the stinking offense gets an extra run or two, it's all a moot point. 4 for 34 with RISP this series. That's why the series isn't over. The calling card of this team all year has been the offense and now, it's disappeared when we need it most.
If it doesn't show up today, it's game, set, match.
