I joke around with literally 100% of the people I encounter in my life. Making someone laugh right from the git-go is one of the best things you can do to make for a great conversation. Now there are some people who do not like that at all, so you have to put away the humor because Mr. or Mrs. Stick-up-their-ass has issues.
One of the best ones I've pulled ever was at Wake Forest Baptist hospital. They have a huge neurological wing, like 12 doctors, so you can imagine how many nurses they have. I have to go in about once a year to have some tests done because I have a benign tumor that we keep a check on to make sure it's not growing. So I get a different nurse every time. Last time I went there the door opens and this gigantic black dude, I'm talking NFL defensive lineman looking 6'5" 350 pound guy is my nurse and he calls my name. As I approach the door the guy doesn't even look at me or acknowledge me. He just holds the door long enough for me to get it and he turns and starts walking down the hallway, with me following me. Never said a word. I saw in his face as I was walking toward the door how much he hated his job and how much he hated people--I totally get it, I do too. But this dude was just in complete misery. Like in he wished someone would just kill him rather than have to go through another day of this bullcrap job putting up with idiots and a-holes.
So, as we're walking down the hallway, he goes around a corner and points at a scale along the wall and says "Ok, we're going to get on that scale." I reply with a straight face "both of us?"
He's looking at his clipboard when I said it, and the look on his face, words can't describe....it was like finally he hit hit rock bottom in his life and his job, he had finally encountered the dumbest person in the history of the world. He couldn't take it anymore. He was ready to snap. He takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, tips his head back for a few seconds, then looks at me......and by that time I couldn't hold it in, I'm starting to giggle like a little schoolgirl. He points at me, busts out laughing and says "aw man you got me, whewwwwww, you got me alright!" He just cracks up laughing and couldn't stop...he's taking deep breaths trying to regain his composure, wiping tears off his face.....he was a chatterbox the entire rest of the visit, we were like old time best friends after that, and he thanked me for making his day.

I checked out some Norm MacDonald because Hart kept mentioning him. Absolutely hilarious. That whole routine he does making innocent people look like Jew haters and holocaust deniers..it's the kind of thing you wished you thought of yourself.
I really like Dave Chapelle stand up too ..he has me in tears and you never know where it's going. he seems like a really nice person too

I’ve heard a lot of funny things from Chapelle and a lot of things that rubbed me the wrong way. His attacks on Candace Owens were so wrong and so over the top. She’s out there telling the truth and he couldn’t handle it and got way too mean and personal. She actually handled it really well and made him look small but it still bothered me. I can enjoy over the top humor for sure but the things he said weren’t comedy they were just personal attacks.

I don't know anything about either of them I checked Norm for the first time and Dave popped up on the side. It is unfortunate that just about everything in entertainment is political or they can't just shut up. It was a stupid idea in the first place for celebs to go on social media...familiarity and contempt and all that. There is so much about America I love I try to ignore it or stick to the classics which were so much better anyways. I just watched Gone With The Wind for the first time in decades on blue ray and was breathless by the end.

I don’t mind politics in comedy, as long as it’s comedy and not just attacking someone. I don’t mind being made fun of or people I like being made fun of if it’s actually comedy and well done. I saw some comedians talking about that recently and saying the exact same thing. Just because you call yourself a comedian doesn’t mean you can attack someone with no humor in it and pretend its comedy. You CAN attack someone if comedy is included and is the end goal, but you can’t just attack somebody outright with vicious insults and act like it’s funny.
Pryor was my favorite and Carlin next, I loved Sam Kinison and of course Bill Hicks. There’s quite a few others but nobody in the last 20 years I guess. Brian Regan is hilarious and pulls it off by being very clean. Another guy I had never even heard of until about a year ago is a British guy named Billy Connolly. He’s been around forever and I find a lot of his stuff to be some of the funniest stuff I ever saw, I got addicted to him for a few weeks. Very unpretentious and down to earth and FUNNY!

I have loved Billy Connolly for a very long time.. That guy has done a lot of stuff that had me in tears, and he's just as funny if he's being interviewed on a talk show outside of doing a routine.
