Do the Braves consider moving him this winter and bringing in a free agent? Iglesias, Gregorius, and Andrus are all free agents. My guess is we continue hoping Dansby can finally turn the corner, especially given the difference in cost. I just hope we're not waiting for something that never happens. My take on that is that his arb3 year is 2022. I don't mind giving him that long to decide if we want to try to sign him long term. But along the way I'd like to see him not play every day if he's struggling and someone else is on the team and performing much better than him. That gripes me. Despite the nonsensical belief of Snitker's that Charlie does better in his backup role, Charlie had an .850 OPS for two months in the middle of the season last year as an everyday starter when we had several injuries. Then Dansby came back and sucked for an extended period of time, but he was the starter every single day. Now we have the Hech variable, which isn't even going to come into play.
My fear is to see us give Dansby a 5-8 year deal in the offseason. I would not commit to that until he can prove he can be consistent. And maybe stay healthier.
So I would hang onto him and see how he does, and I wouldn't be afraid to bring in competition. Personally I think that would be good for him. I really don't think he has a ton of value right now. He's a 1.3 WAR player this year, and that's with a great start that he had. Dude has 1750 PA's in the big leagues now, three full seasons, and a cumulative 4.1 WAR.

I do believe that hech should start because he's the hotter player I also think Cervelli should start Over Flowers. Simply because we can't afford passed balls in the playoffs

Unless Dansby finds something in the next week or so, starting Hech is the way to go. As for Flowers, well, Cervelli is just a better player than Flowers. In fact, at this point, he's probably the best catcher we have.

I think it would be best to wait and see what happens over the next week before making a decision between Hech and Dansby. Doesn't mean that'll be the case, of course.
