Julio Teheran, RHP, 10-8, 3.31 ERA, 154 K's Teheran has posted a 2.67 ERA over his past 23 starts. He's limited opponents to a .167 batting average over his past four starts. The veteran righty hasn't faced the Phillies since allowing them three runs over five innings on Opening Day.
vs
Drew Smyly, LHP, 4-6, 6.20 ERA, 104 K's Smyly is coming off a scoreless seven-inning start, his second in nine starts since joining the Phillies. He’ll face the Braves for just the second time in his career.

Note to Julio - you go full Nuke LaLoosh vs. Harper tonight. Throw it in the dirt. To the backstop. Hit the Phanatic. Just DON'T THROW A STRIKE.
On the flipside, Smyly has given up 10 HR in 50 IP. Saddle up, boys!

I thought we might call up Pache, Waters, and Anderson for a cup of coffee, but I guess not.

Pache and Anderson both struggled some at AAA, but Waters didn't. I'd rather see him on the roster right now than Ortega.

***Weather Update*** Sep 12, 2019 4:05 PM EDT Philadelphia, PA Vicinity
A cold front pushing through the area will provide some showers and a possible T-storm in the Philly vicinity later this afternoon and early evening. Cloud cover should inhibit any severe weather but a brief gusty shower is certainly possible. Most of the activity should occur before the game, however, some light showers could stick around a bit longer and a few intermittent light showers could linger into the evening. It wouldn't be surprising to see a short delay in the start of the game. Models are in pretty good agreement with generally less than .1" throughout the game time period, most of them early in that time period. I'll check the radar later to monitor those showers moving through and if any heavier showers develop. Temps generally in the 70's with ENE to NE winds about 10 MPH (that's blowing in from RF if my orientation is correct).

Go Braves!!!

You know, that home plate ump last night could have easily cost us that game. He took the steal away from Freddie on a bogus interference call. Apparently, the batter has to snap his fingers and disappear, because the catcher can take as many steps as he wants before throwing to second base, so ALL of that space is his. He called Greene's PERFECT strike 3 pitch to the GOAT ball 4, and Melancon wasn't allowed a strike below the belt. That kind of sheet pisses me off.
