Max Scherzer, RHP, 9-5, 2.60 ERA, 207 K's Scherzer took what he deemed a big step forward with his most recent start against the Mets. Even though he gave up four runs, he struck out seven and walked one in six innings, feeling strong even after throwing 90 pitches.
vs
Mike Soroka, RHP, 11-3, 2.53 ERA, 119 K's Soroka will attempt to get back on track after allowing two homers for the first time in his career during Monday's start against the Blue Jays. The rookie limited the Nationals to one run in seven innings on July 31.

Tough day game for the pen tomorrow.
If we need a closer, Meloncon has to immediately turn around after a night game.
Greene is probably unavailable.

The nice part is that if we lose, it means we only took 3 out of 4. Bummer, eh? 😉

It’s all good. Soroka’s going 9 and Braves win 1-0 on a JD HR.

I hope Soroka gets 10 runs of support, he deserves it he has had some tough luck no decisions
And we just might see the good version of Luke - well we hope he can give us one clean inning he drives one crazy and he has been a lucky pitcher
Maybe O Day can show something - I do want the main relievers we need rested for this one we can afford it
3 or 4 for sure, I am happy - elated for that matter

Flo’s been raking lately, too. I’m ok with him being in the lineup vs. Scherzer.

That was the first homer given up by Soroka with a runner on base in his career (31 starts)
