Freeman exits in precautionary move after HBP By Mark Bowman @mlbbowman 12:07 AM EDT ATLANTA -- Braves manager Brian Snitker removed Freddie Freeman from Saturday night’s 11-5 win over the White Sox to improve the odds of the All-Star first baseman returning to Sunday’s lineup with what will be a bruised left foot. The middle of Freeman’s foot was struck by Jimmy Cordero’s 99-mph sinker in the second inning. But he was not removed until the Braves pinch-hit for him while possessing a 7-2 lead in the sixth. “He’s sore,” Snitker said. “We’ll check him out when he comes in tomorrow. I just wanted to get him out and get him treated up. The quicker we got to him, the better chance we have to get him in there tomorrow.” After scoring from second base on Matt Joyce’s second-inning single, Freeman hobbled down the dugout stairs toward the clubhouse. But he took the field at the start of the third inning and tallied one more plate appearance -- a fourth-inning flyout. Freeman served as the Braves starting first baseman for all but two games last year, and he has been out of the starting lineup just once through this season’s first 136 games. Mark Bowman has covered the Braves for MLB.com since 2001. www.mlb.com/news/freddie-freeman-exits-after-hit-by-pitch

It's hard to believe the gnats gave up Giolito. Interested to see him today.

It's hard to believe the gnats gave up Giolito. Interested to see him today. That is the breaks when you trade prospects, as it turned Giolito was one that might should not have gotten away Believe it was to get Adam Eaton if my memory serves me right The Nats have been in win now - when you do that one of the kids you trade will be that one that gets away It took a while but what are Padres fans saying about Max Fried right now, man what will he be once he gets over that one bad inning syndrome

Every game is a must win the way the pesky Gnats are playing -- Braves need a strong September for sure
17 more wins will be a 100 win season and for sure that will keep the Pesky Gnats away - can we go 17-8? Very possible
We are better than last yr but so are the hated Nats
