This is just an observation watching him he seems to be struggling and it seems to be bothering him. Yes the kid is so talented that he is still a top 40 player offensively in the National League. I hope that someone pulls this kid to the side and let him know that is even though he's struggling he is still contributing and it can only get better. This kid is amazing to watch especially when he's happy and enjoying the game I don't like seeing him down on himself

This is just my observation for what it's worth. It seems that this year Ronald has been trying to be more selective in his approach at the plate. Last year he was more aggressive and took a "see ball, hit ball" approach. The problem this year is that he's looking at a lot of early strikes, often fastballs, and falling behind in the count. The result is that he then becomes protective at the plate, which he should, but that has led to more tentative swings and weakly hit balls. Some have dropped in for singles, but he doesn't seem to be attacking the ball the way he did when he first came up. It's obviously gotten to him and he's gotten frustrated which hasn't helped. Right now he's guessing a lot at the plate and not guessing well....hopefully he'll settle down and get back in the groove.

I don't disagree, but if he's our biggest problem, we're in pretty good shape. It's a testament to his talent that we're even talking about this. He'll take off again.

He looked more like the 2018 Acuna tonight ... hopefully he’s snapping out of his funk

He looked more like the 2018 Acuna tonight ... hopefully he’s snapping out of his funk He will. Hell, he had 2 hits tonight. Yes, one was a grounder up the middle, but he's getting his hits. I'd like to see him go off like he did in the 2nd half last year, though. That was fun.

Yes that's my point even struggling he is better than most. He needs to just keep playing baseball and not try to be a professional hitter in today's League you really don't need to do anything but see the ball and hit the ball hard think about it most guys don't pitch you really don't need to think you can look fastball all the time and almost every pitcher's velocity is the same today you very rarely have to say so yeah throwing 88 and moving the ball all around the corners and then the next day facing a guy throwing 95 today everyone's Rose 91 to 97 and they back it up with either a slider or curve yes if you guys still throw a change but not very often and where they are all tall today it's harder for them to maintain the same delivery so their control is rarely good enough to paint the corners

He's gotta work on hitting the pitches up in the zone, too.

Go check out the link below. I love the red/blue line that shows us how a player's measurable performance stacks up against the rest of MLB. Look at Ronald ... He's red (great) across the board. Excellent exit velocity. Excellent hard hit % Excellent Sprint speed Based on his batted ball profile, his expected batting average is .292, and his expected slugging percentage is .533. With the walks he draws, that's a .900 OPS player. So, offensively ... He's doing just fine. His biggest issue is some bad batted ball luck. That will turn around in time -- he just needs to avoid changing too much just to chase the results. His measurable are excellent just as they are baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/ronald-acuna-jr-660670?stats=career-r-hitting-mlb

I was thinking that year 3 (next yr) would be his real break out year
Ozzie has taken a little step back too -- its been a while since he has homered, would like the OBP to gain 20 or so points
And do not be surprised to see Riley take a step back next yr and rake in year 3 or 4, that does happen. I am not talking sophomore jinx, but a realistic step back as the player learns MLB and really hit the prime in the third or fourth yr and so on.
