Uck Did you see Orville Peck is doing a tour? He's done some shows that we could have driven to in the past, but they were always venues that didn't have seating. It's become incredibly common and annoying. People want to stand up the whole time during sporting events and music concerts. Usually there's at least one opening act, and for a lot of these lesser known performers they'll play festivals where there's 3, 4, 5 or even more bands, and you have no damn place to sit. Being my age, if I stand up for just one hour my back hurts so bad it takes me a few weeks to get back to normal. And I don't normally have back problems.
My girl Sierra Ferrell, after ten years, is finally getting recognition, playing the Opry and other big enough places that actually have seating. You still can't much see or hear if you sit down, because everybody still stands up the whole time, but at least you can get some relief every ten minutes. We're finally getting to see her live for the first time in Charleston in about three weeks.
We have 2nd row SEATS to see Duane Betts in May, just saw him a couple of months ago for the 3rd time, Dickey Betts' son, he's great. He covers some of the Allman Brothers stuff, and all of his own original stuff has an Allman Brothers flavor to it, he's doing an excellent job of keeping their sound going.

Underrated, one of the greatest ever.....in my opinion Dickey was really the backbone of Southern Rock with those Les Paul Gibson guitars. I saw them about 20 times, always super amazing 3 hour concerts.

I'm hardly here as well. Nightman still around? You are still here to steer the ship. Even when I was on here more regularly I think that guy South had probably died so I doubt he has been here in a half decade or so.

He just disappeared. I really hope his disappearance wasn't due to something really bad related to that.

All of us should really spend less time making money and gling through the grind, and spend a lot more time sitting around listening to live music. I'm 60 now, and I am so done with ya know.. pretty much everything.

All of us should really spend less time making money and gling through the grind, and spend a lot more time sitting around listening to live music. I'm 60 now, and I am so done with ya know.. pretty much everything. It's so crazy, I was planning on slowing way down right when the pandemic BS cam along, and my business just went berserker and it has not slowed down yet. I was going to cut back to 20-30 hours per week but I've maintained my 60-80 hour work week because I'm making insane amounts of money. I figured I might as well get as much as I can while I can, because by September people will stop spending money in my direction and I really dont think it will bounce back for at least a year, and most likely will never come close to what these last four years have been like. I'm at a point now where I think when the election rolls around and the world goes off the rails I'm probably going to just shut it down for good. I always assumed I would keep going part time for another 10-15 years, but now I don't have to. We've still managed to see a lot of live music, it's pretty much all we do for entertainment. Music has been such a huge part of my life and mo wife's life it's really important for us to go to shows. We saw Sierra Ferrell in Charleston two weeks ago and it was super. The Allman Betts show was great the other night. And I don't care how good of a stereo you have or how loud you play it, you can watch live YouTube videos or play live music on your stereo super loud and it still comes nowhere close to what it's like to actually hear it live. And live music is 1000 times better than over produced emotionless studio recordings.
