I was going to let the passing of Billy Joe Shaver be my stepping off point in this tread, but as I'll explain soon I have a reason to feel otherwise now.
This tread has 70k views, more than any tread on the forum, that's awesome!
I have a few more videos I want to post in this tread now before I head into my sabbatical.

I wanted to post a few clips of Justin Townes Earle, Steve's son who died at the end of August of a drug overdose at the age of 38. As much as I liked Steve's songs and songwriting over the years (sans Copperhead Road), I had never paid hardly any attention at all to Justin's music. I liked the few things of his I heard over the years but just never pursued his stuff. After he passed I got all of his albums and started watching all his clips on YouTube, and he's blown me away. He's hands down a better writer, better guitar player and better singer than Steve. I'm kind of ashamed I didn't pay more attention, but I've really had some great new music to listen to, so I highly recommend everybody checking him out, he has really talented.
R.I.P. young man.
