I haven’t seen anyone make this tread yet, it’s opening day and hopefully everyone will participate. Most disappointing pitcher: Newk Most disappointing position player: Culberson Most valuable pitcher: Fried. Most valuable player: Acuna and Fred are a given, so I’m going Swanson. (This will surprise many) Pitching prospect that takes the biggest step: Muller. Position prospect that takes the biggest step: Waters Most disappointing pitching prospect: Gohara(again) Most disappointing position prospect: Jenista Bold prediction: Acuna and Fred are both top 10 in MVP voting. Braves record 91-71.
Feel free to add anything if I forgot anything.

I will vote on Swanson being the most improved player
Too early to tell on Jenista - don't think he will crack the roster this year
Braves record, 82-80
Reason for the step back is that they will have a tougher time within the division, the Phils and Nats will be tougher and I do not know what to expect from the Mets, they do have some pitching they can't be as bad as last yr
Disappointing pitching prospect, its a toss up between Allard and Gohara
Expect to see Carmago get more PT as the season goes on, do not expect Nick or JD to play more than 100-115 games
Really not sure if JD will hold up
Culberson will be useful but he was quite the surprise last yr - a repeat of that might be too much to expect
Fried looks better than Newk right now, still want to see Newk get back to last yrs first half he was quite good

At some point in the season, Westiedog will want to throw every player on the roster down an elevator shaft.

At some point in the season, Westiedog will want to throw every player on the roster down an elevator shaft. Lets start with Luke the Puke -- why he has a job in MLB is unknown but he has a low salary so that explains it all Buy cheap, get cheap -- the story of the 2019 Braves. So much for this season. Try 62-100, forget 82-80. This is a disgrace

Kyle Muller will be the pitching prospect that takes the biggest step.
Christian Pache will be the hitting prospect that takes the biggest step.

I'm going to temper my answer after what I witnessed yesterday...but even before that I was not too optimistic entering this season.
Most Disappointing Pitcher - I'm not even going to go to the bullpen because as long as Luke Jackson is on this team there can be no bigger disappointment. I'm going to go with Newcomb from the rotation because I just don't see him taking that next step...it's a shame too because the kid has great stuff.
Most Disappointing Position Player - This could be a long list beginning with Donaldson...I don't see him making the splash that is expected from him...besides the fact that I see him on the IL most of the season. The guy I'm looking at that could be a big disappointment is B. McCann. I think he doesn't have it physically anymore. I think he's going to be a liability from a production standpoint and defensively behind the plate...and Flowers won't be any better.
Most Valuable Pitcher - By default I think it's going to be Folty again. Some of the young guys are going to look great at times, but from a consistency standpoint, if he can stay healthy Folty is the Braves most solid guy.
Most Valuable Player - I see Freddie having an MVP year and Acuna avoiding the sophomore slump. These guys will carry the team all year. The Braves go as far as these guys can carry them.
Pitching Prospect that Takes the Biggest Step - K. Wright
Position Prospect that Takes the Biggest Step - Pache
Most Disappointing Prospect - Riley...I think the strikeout situation continues to be an issue.
Bold Prediction
#1. If Kimbrel doesn't sign by the June draft the Braves will sign him and he will be a huge disappointment.
#2. The Braves will be mired in third or fourth place by the trade deadline and AA will try to salvage the season and quiet the howling fan base by trading for someone like Bumgardner...giving up one of our better pitching prospects (Muller, Anderson)...and it will make no difference.
Braves Record - I see a regression of about ten to twelve games from last season. 80-82 just edging out the Mets for third place.
But I expect the Braves to "open the pocketbook" next off season and "shop on every aisle" by "making a splash" in the free agent market. Yeah...right.

I predict that both Kimbrel and Keuchel will not sign until after the June draft whoever they sign with
Also, at some point that Luke the Puke will be DFA'ed -- finally

Sorry, not happening. I do get the facetious humor, I say the same thing 11th commandment on the Braves in Free Agency "Thou Shalt Not Spend" Payroll will be in the low 100's to 110 m again - flexibility will be there but -- we will hear the excuses again & I do not blame Alex If the Braves do get off to a slow enough start, say, 12-18 I do not see Alex doing much of anything aggressive and just going with the flow of getting these young pitchers some experience and hoping they get better Do see the possibility of moving on from JD and maybe even Ender if it goes completely south by say, Memorial Day.

I have a new prediction. We will win a game before the All-star break.
