Lord knows he did enough of that to us when he was a Brave. I'm happy he is doing it for someone else and especially since it's those guyz!

Did anybody see the play in the Faillies game at home plate where the Gnats challenged it, saying the catcher did not have his foot on the plate when he caught the ball for a force out with the bases loaded? The catcher's foot was clearly 2-4" off the ground when he caught the ball, and they upheld the out call. I'm so disgusted with their unwillingness to overturn obvious calls I just want them to do away with the whole thing at this point. Absolutely ridiculous.

I didn't see it, but that sounds about right.
I know sometimes replay fixes a bad call, but I'm with you about doing away with it. I remember before replay I might get upset by a bad call around 10 times a year. Now I've gotten mad about replay failures about 20 times this season, and counting.

It was as bad as any of the bad replays not overturned in Braves games. The catcher was so clearly off the plate when he caught the ball that the entire Faillies crowd let out a huge groan when they saw it on the replay board, they assumed the call would get overturned because there was zero doubt what happened. It couldn't have been more obvious. It's just become a complete travesty.

I think they're trying to keep the umpires' success rate as high as possible.

At first, I thought review was a good idea, and perhaps it is in limited circumstances, but overall, it's a bust at this point. The biggest problem I've seen is umpires protecting each other, and a call like the one from the Phailies game last night is a perfect example of that.

Braves extend Tyler Flowers. I like Flowers, but I'm a bit surprised. I wonder if they'll do the same with Suzuki? I have to assume that Contreras is at least a year away, given the Flowers signing, so it makes some sense. Good catchers are hard to come by. That's why Realmuto's value is so insane. Flowers gets PAID

I am really surprised by this.
A lot. I would have extended only one of our two current catchers and I don't think it would have been Flowers.
So what exactly are we going to spend all that money on next year?
