"The Braves designated veteran infielder Ryan Flaherty for assignment to open a roster spot for Wilson" The end of the baseball player guy era.
When he was hitting I kept saying he would surely regress, but I still appreciate what he did for us early in the season, he helped us a lot.

Braves recall Michael Reed, option Bryse Wilson back to Triple-AAs stellar as Bryse Wilson was in his debut in the major leagues, it was hardly a secret that his stay in Atlanta (at least this one) was going to be short. With Ryan Flaherty DFAed (finally), the Braves’ bench was very thin and the Braves seem hell-bent on giving lots of different young guys chances in the rotation to showcase their talents. That roster move came today and brings up a guy who has been absolutely raking in Triple-A this season. Michael Reed seems like a perfect bench option as he has a lot of tools and can be used in a variety of situations from pinch-hitting, pinch-running, and can play all over the outfield if need be. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he is slashing .374/.473/.581 in Triple-A this season and has been even better than that lately. With Adam Duvall’s struggles since joining the team, it will be interesting to see if Reed can start getting some more plate appearances as his previous stints with the team have yielded a grand total of five at-bats. As for Wilson, he has put himself right in the mix with Touki Toussaint, Max Fried, Luiz Gohara, and Kolby Allard as guys the Braves want to see and evaluate this year (although it seems like it would be a surprise if Kolby made another trip to the show this season). His first impression in the majors was a good one and he could easily see more time as the Braves try to finalize their roster during their playoff push (man, does that feel good to say). www.talkingchop.com/2018/8/21/17765392/atlanta-braves-recall-michael-reed-option-bryse-wilson-back-to-triple-a

Nationals Trade Murphy to the Cubs, Adams to the Cardinals
The Washington Nationals is sending a couple of its top infielders to the National League Central to compete for the playoffs there. The Nats traded second baseman Daniel Murphy to the Chicago Cubs and first baseman Matt Adams to the St. Louis Cardinals. Murphy, 33, began the season on the disabled list but has hit well since returning to the team in June. He is batting .300 with six home runs, a .341 on-base percentage and .442 slugging in 56 games. Adams, 29, has shared duties at first base and provided good power, hitting 18 home runs and driving in 48 runs in 94 games. He is hitting .257 with .332 OBP and .510 slugging. The Cubs are in first place in the Central division, and the Cardinals are in third but just 3.5 games behind the Cubs. The Cubs are sending Minor League infielder Andruw Monasterio, 21, and a player to be named later or cash considerations to the Nats. Monasterio hit .263 for single-A Myrtle Beach in the Carolina League this season. The Nats traded Adams for cash considerations. www.nbcwashington.com/blogs/capital-games/Nationals-Trade-Murphy-to-the-Cubs-Adams-to-the-Cardinals-491381571.html?_osource=SocialFlowTwt_DCBrand&__twitter_impression=true

Now a depleted Nats team that still has NINE games left with the Phillies. I will find it very hard to root for the Nats.

We call up Reed again and my prediction is he pinch hits once over the next 6 games before we send him down to let <insert name here> get a start.
