I would expect no less from the poor little sisters of the Yankees. Yep, the team that broke Tim Hudsons leg.

Poor Urine. Everyone wanted to attack him. He just wanted to move Acuna's feet. Yeah, ok, sure, Urine and I'm Loretta Lynn. Will you sing "Don't come home a drinkin" sometime?

Maybe Passan will write an article now calling Hernandez a bigot.

Hernandez has always trashed the Braves, so its not surprising he would defend this.

He's had some timely hits all season. He has sucked overall, and I am not defending his results this year, but before tonight.. With runners on .293 BA With runner in scoring position .284 BA Fangraphs High leverage AB's .429 B I think he's around .300 as well from the 7th inning on. So his paltry few hits usually come in big situations. That's great but a huge part of that happened early in the season. His swing has looked better the last few days, hopefully they keep throwing him fastballs. Why anyone ever throws him a fastball over the inner third or farther in is beyond me, it's not like they've had to trick him with the breaking stuff. He's been streaky the whole time he's been in the big leagues, hopefully he'll go on a good streak now. Actually according to famgraphs splits tool, his worst high leverage work was in June. Admittedly small sample when you only look at high leverage, but he is OPSing over 1.000 in July and August and slugging over .500 in those same months. Those stats mirror April and May. June was when that was drug down with a terrible .286 high leverage OPS, but a lot of that was when he was coming back from the wrist injury if I am not mistaken. Again.. his few hits have been timely ones, quite a bit.. all season.

I'm not a Twitter-er (I hate social media), but apparently the Braves just tweeted that x-rays were negative, so that's good.

Irony (or coincidence???) that this is one of the highlights from this date in baseball in 1920...
On a dreary afternoon at the Polo Grounds in New York, popular Indians shortstop Ray Chapman suffers a fractured skull when he is hit in the head by a fastball thrown by Yankee right-handed submariner Carl Mays. The 29 year-old newlywed will die shortly before daybreak tomorrow, becoming the first on-field player fatality in major league history.
