One good thing. With it being Sunday, the kids get to run the bases after the game. At least there’ll be some in Braves attire who get to do that today.

I hope Dansby has a better day at the plate, he had one of his most brutal games "hitting" yesterday, he got abused. He looked like someone who had won a raffle and got to come out of the stands and take some swings at major league pitching.

I hold out hope because of the way Simmons has hit since leaving the Braves, but that's pretty unusual.

I hold out hope because of the way Simmons has hit since leaving the Braves, but that's pretty unusual. The difference to me is that I thought Simmons was just over swinging, and that could be fixed. I don't know if he still swings just as hard, or if he's adjusted, but that's what I saw. With Dansby, his problem is he can't recognize breaking pitches at all. I would imagine they've been working on that tirelessly, but I'm not seeing any improvements. He can murder fastballs that are up and on the inner half of the plate, and he can hit hanging breaking pitches that are up and not doing much. But as I've said before, I could still do that too! I can't dog the guy on a personal level for not being able to recognize and hit breaking pitches, major league pitchers are good and most batters struggle to some degree to recognize and hit breaking pitches.....but Dansby's issue with it is so bad I don't think he's a legit big league hitter if he can't turn this around somehow. If I saw some sign of improvement that would be one thing, but I haven't seen that. His career wRC+ is 73, which is now for almost two full seasons in the big leagues. That ranks 126th out of 131 qualifying hitters. Kingery and Alicedes Escobar are the only two SS below him. Even Peraza is ahead of him, as are Tim Anderson and Freddy Galvis. He's a really weak hitting SS who strikes out way too much. I'm rooting for him, but it's painful to watch.

Today's Dodger lineup at Braves: Taylor SS Machado 3B Kemp LF Hernández CF Muncy 1B Grandal C Puig RF Forsythe 2B Stripling P I’m guessing that this lineup will be able to generate the 2 runs they need to win today.

He's led a rather coddled baseball life, I'm sure (you know, mommy and daddy sacrificing for the travel ball thing, etc). You know he looks at Ozzie, Camargo, Acuna, et al and knows they're better than him. I'm sure that's tough after being told you're the greatest thing since sliced bread from the time you were 7 years old. The Latin players didn't have all those advantages, and I think it's a big reason why they're better players.
