....and he insists on running us out of innings......once my favorite player, I've soured more on his "peripherals" than I have about his abilities....if a struggling kid like Dansby can keep going on without complaints, a vet certainly should be able to. I think it's also worth noting that the game has gone beyond the punch-and-judy hitting center fielder, especially when that center fielder is hitting .240.

All Ender needs to do is consistently get on base. With Albies, Free, and Kakes following him; just getting singles and drawing walks will be sufficient. A lot of times though his swings have looked like he's going after butterflies with a net.
I think Dansby needs to hear a different voice about his hitting. I still see ability there behind bad habits, some of which Uckery mentioned. What I don't see is anyone talking to him after his at bats. I'm not saying KS doesn't do anything but I would like to see someone in his ear as soon as he enters the dugout. I don't make assumptions that he refuses to listen and if that is the case then what a bunch of Rubes we have as coaches and management for putting up with it.

Wow, do I ever agree with that, HMF....some days it's pulling, some days trying to go to right, some just flailing away...Johan is also beginning to do the same thing, though he has more power and will occasionally walk so he can get away with that a little bit more.
It could be an internal lack of leadership of the vocal variety, or a case of KS assuming kids with under 1000 MLB AB's should know how to adjust on their own, or who knows what...….never much of a KS fan, and I kind of wish Washington would take some of these guys under his wing offensively like he has defensively.

Ender might actually be a good trade candidate...love his defense, but getting tired of his whining about virtually everything. I would love to move him. I am not opposed to trying to move him and Dansby together.
Maybe we could get Shelby Miller.
One thing that concerns me though, about Acuna playing CF, he has looked pretty slack at times in LF and taken some weird routes.
Oh well, it would only be for the rest of this season, then we can add Pollock in CF next year.

Ender might actually be a good trade candidate...love his defense, but getting tired of his whining about virtually everything. I'm tired of 90% of his contact seemingly coming off his bat having an exit velocity of 37 mph. I can not remember ever seeing so much incredibly weak contact. I have honestly wondered if he is hiding some sort of injury it has been so bad. My only hope is he has always been much better in the 2nd half than in the first. I tried to look up a list of the exit velocity for every MLB player, and all I could find is a list of the top 20 or 30 or whatever. I'd love to see a whole list, I can't believe there's any way there's even one player with lower exit velocity than Ender.

I agree, a lot, and I have noted that I'm getting tired of seeing Ender complain about called strikes that are actually really strikes. I thought when Justin Upton left we were done with that nonsense.

I don't make assumptions that he refuses to listen and if that is the case then what a bunch of Rubes we have as coaches and management for putting up with it. I was getting irritated that Ender was hitting so many soft 200 foot pop flies to the outfield, I kept thinking man I wish he would try to hit the ball on the ground. Now I'm sick of seeing him hit 15 mph grounders to the pitcher, first baseman and second baseman.
Going after butterflies with a net is a perfect description of his swing.
And I have felt the exact same thing about Dansby, I wish he could get some more help from somewhere else. What about Chipper? I still see a lot of ability with him, even in the batter's box, he has some good fundamentals, and at times does some real nice things and takes some good swings. But as has been mentioned, he flails a lot and looks awful a lot and does nothing consistently. Except struggle, perhaps. I think he still has major pitch recognition issues, and that makes a guy nervous and jittery from the git go.

I don't see the need for a prognosis of doom, we have things that are not going right but no one here is prescient. Do you think the Nationals are ready to give up? they don't and we have had more success so far. We actually have a good chance to make the playoffs. Don't acquiesce and abandon all we have accomplished. What's funny is that some predicting doom think the Nats will be the eventual division winner. What's not funny though is that the Braves have been a .500 team for quite awhile now after getting to 10 games over. Things are not going to improve until... ya know... things change. Yet every day its the exact same lineup that Snit throws out there. I'm not big on trying to play a guessing game with the lineup on a day to day basis, but I guarantee you I would have Acuna a few times in center with Culberson or Tucker in left, and a couple of games in a row with Camargo at short and Culberson at 3rd. I would also shake up the batting order and get dead ass Ender out of the leadoff spot right now. I agree, the present rote managerial presentation seems to be spinning its wheels in a ditch. Maybe a little imagination and creativity could inspire and produce greater success

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Oh well, it would only be for the rest of this season, then we can add Pollock in CF next year. As HMF said, Ender has been better the second half, so maybe he will get things turned around....I'm very patient, but when the whining starts I sort of lose that...no question he is talented defensively but as you mentioned elsewhere, he's even complaining about obvious strikes.....and with Ronald, I think it might be more learning how a ball park plays than not having the talent to play there. I think Dansby is going to be a really good MLB player some day...he seems to have a polarizing effect on people, so in the interest of Board Peace, I'll let it go at that....with the caviat that I do understand the frustration on occasion...………………………………………..though not today.
