Lest we forget, the Braves are still 4-2 on this road trip so far.

NO!!!
We have completely collapsed and are in a death spiral towards 3rd place before the all-star break.
That was the impression I got from some of the posts yesterday.

Starting to sound a lot like the old board here lately...and we're 13 games over .500. I wish I could say I'm surprised by that.

Seasons have ebbs and flows, but it would be nice for the Braves to start flowing more now. The Cards series sweep masked the fact that we are just 1-3-1 in our last five series. With the Phillies on our heels and playing an easy portion of their schedule, it would be nice for the Braves to make a statement before the All Star Break. Splitting this tough series would be OK, giving us a 6-4 trip ... much better than most of us could have hoped for. BUT winning 3 of 4 and coming home after a .700 trip against three tough opponents would be phenomenal.

I truly believe we’d have won the NYY series if not playing on their field. The Orioles and Reds Series...the reds are NOT the 3-15 team they started as, at all. And the orioles series loss should’ve never happened. But we got Moylan’d and Julio’d

They're not nearly as good on the road, and other than the Sox, their division is weak.

Braves interested in Manny Machado but focused on acquiring bullpen help We are less than a month away from the trade deadline and the rumor mill is starting to churn. Among players with the most buzz is Baltimore shortstop Manny Machado who is likely the biggest name available. The Diamondbacks and others are rumored to the hottest on the trail of Machado but the Atlanta Braves are also interested according to a report by MLB Network’s Jon Morosi. Obviously, any team within shouting distance of the playoffs would be interested in acquiring a player of Machado’s caliber. However, it is highly unlikely that Atlanta would be willing to part with the necessary prospect capital that it would take to satisfy Baltimore’s needs. Especially given Machado’s status as a rental player who will enter free agency this offseason. The second part of Morosi’s report is more relevant as the Braves are apparently focused on adding controllable relievers to a bullpen that has been a source of frustration of late. It also suggests that Atlanta would be more comfortable trading prospects if they are getting a reliever back that could help the team not only this season but in future seasons as well. www.talkingchop.com/2018/7/4/17534640/mlb-trade-rumors-atlanta-braves-interested-manny-machado-bullpen-upgrades

Personally, I think the Yankees have an outstanding team. (Go Braves!!) I pretty much really dislike the Yankees and prolly because they are so successful. The short porch in right is there for both teams (ie Acuna game 1) so I’m not sure how it so heavily benefits the Yanks

I suggested Barraclough last year. Most were fairly cool to the idea because of his control (career 5+ BB per 9 IP). He does walk guys, which is something we DON'T need this year but he gives up few hits (career WHIP 1.2) and he would be better than most of our current relievers. Hand would be a plus also!
