UP NEXT:
Braves: RHP Mike Foltynewicz (5-4, 2.31) allowed two runs on five hits in five innings in his last start, a loss against the Padres. He has a combined 19 strikeouts in his last two starts.
Mets: RHP Zack Wheeler (2-4, 4.57 ERA) gets the ball Tuesday in a personal homecoming at Atlanta. Wheeler, who tossed seven shutout innings of three-hit ball last time out against Baltimore, is 4-2 with a 2.94 ERA in eight career starts vs. the Braves -- though he hasn't faced them since September 2014.

This team really needs to go on one of these little streaks where they win 4 series out of the next 5 or 11 of the next 15 games...
Something to make me believe they are not going to be a .500 team at best the rest of the way.

Sweep of the Mets and 3/4 against the Padres would go a long way in keeping my faith.

I see Bowman (Braves beat writer) says Teheran will likely pitch Friday (ugh). And, Soroka will start Wednesday vs the Mets.

Ender and Oz getting straightened out will be a big factor going forward.

In fact that puts us close to division winner territory. and when you are 10 games over on May 14th, you would like to think you could muster a little better than .500 over the next 4.5 months

Acuna has been gone for two weeks now also. Treading water until Acuna comes back, I could live with. im Optimistic. I don’t think they’ll go far in the playoffs this year, but if you get good Folty or newk in the wild card game, some good things could come

I doubt this team would get anywhere in the playoffs, but it would be fun.

I doubt this team would get anywhere in the playoffs, but it would be fun. It would also give them valuable high pressure experience that could serve them in the next few years to come ... when they are legit contenders.

Prediction: if the Mutts pitchers throw some pitches in the general direction of home plate tonight Oz will be hacking.

If we get the April Ozzie, I say ... hack away! I agree. It’s definitely a conundrum because when he’s hitting he gets a lot of hits on bad pitches.
