He would have hit with this kind of power
I thought he would be maybe a Jose Altuve type in his early yrs and maybe develop 15 or so HR a yr power but man, this is far exceeding what anyone could have thought this early
And he had legit power in his stint last yr with 6 HRS
Looking more and more like the real deal but can we keep expecting this power? We will see

Cant really complain, but unless he gets his OBP up the Braves are gonna have to look for a new lead off hitter.

If you expect Albies to keep hitting with this much power and taking few walks, then the only move that makes sense to me is switching Albies and Acuna.

Oh, I agree. I was just talking more in the future. It’s not advantageous to have a lead off hitter with an OBP oF .310. I’m hoping that can improve as time goes on, but if it doesn’t you have to make a change.

On the other hand, a lot of times the leadoff hitter will lead off just 1 time in a game, sooooo, don't know what to think. I'm with you totally that he needs to improve in that regard. That will come with experience and maturity.

When I totaled the other 6 spots and divided by 6, I came up with an average of about 10% of the time, which tells me that outside of the first inning, who leads off doesn't make a lot of difference, because it rarely happens anyway.

It's not just about leading off a game, it's about at-bats.

Wasn't Alfonso Soriano a leadoff man for part of his career? What it boils down to is that you have your best hitters at the top of the lineup. Our best four are currently batting 1-4. You can argue the order in which you want to place them, but not that they are undeserving of being there. A prototypical leadoff hitter would have both speed and obp. Things aren't always as you draw them up. Albies is fine at leadoff for now.
