I like sports. Always have. I played OK, but never had the talent it takes to get anywhere with it. I have 2 "true loves" in sports, though. One is Tar Heel basketball, and the other is Braves baseball. It's impossible to explain, but there's still some magic to it for this old fart. There's a beauty within baseball that not everyone can see. It's a team sport, but it's also an individual sport. I love it, and so do you folks. I want to thank those of you who put this board together. It's cool......not as cool as Braves baseball, but very damn cool.

Old Fart's Middle Finger here, agrees.
I'm not going to repeat it, but I once made a long post about what baseball..specifically Braves baseball meant to me.
It was full of emotional "Field of Dreams" and fantasy stuff like what we saw in "The Natural". It sort of transcends just sport and competition and becomes the fabric of your soul.

Well said, Hart's. People who don't like baseball or find it boring will never get it. They just won't. I don't even bother trying to explain it to people any more. It's pointless to try. There are people who feel that way about other sports, too, it's just that baseball is special to cats like us, I guess........especially Braves baseball.

This is why I don't worry about things like speeding up the game to attract millennials. If that's what it takes to attract them to the game, then they will never "get it" regarding baseball.
