Someone needs to come in who will teach these pitchers how to attack the strike zone. Hernandez either has a different philosophy or he's not getting through. Either way, the Braves need to move in a different direction or they will never get to the level we all want them to get to.
And I don't want him anywhere near the golden arms we have in the minors. I guarantee you that if we bring Soroka up and no change has been made, he will end up throwing 90-100 pitches in five innings like the rest of them consistently do.

They get pitchers with control problems (newk,Folty, touki) but they clearly don’t have anyone capable of teaching them to throw strikes...

High upside choices that are undervalued by others.
High upside due to the quality of their stuff but a "value" because of lack of control.

yep... but there's going to be times when you can't, and that's why you keep adding more and more pitchers to increase your odds of hitting on one...
but I don't have a lot of confidence in Hernandez hitting on many... I just don't think he preaches an agressive style that is needed here. I don't claim to know more than the people who are responsible for hiring and firing coaches, but that's my uneducated opinion. My uneducated opinion is also that the Braves are bad about utilizing the "good ole boy" system in this matter, and Hernandez is someone's good ole buddy.

Well the good ole boy system has been tried witht he braves and it was not a good ending.

Hernandez has been a journeyman PC with up and down results -- mostly down in this stint
I don't know how he is in the good old boy network here -- its not like he is an organizational lifer in this system or any long connection to Bobby and JS to my knowledge
But Hernandez has to go -- if they do get another manager he should have FULL authority in his coaching staff
Have any of these high value upside pitchers with supposedly big stuff and control problems really done anything in this rebuild
Seems like none of them have clicked. And some of them never will
Fried, Touki, Folty, Blair, Wisler -- then Banuelos, Winkler, the list goes on and on
Add Newk to the list of big arms that cannot hit the blind side of a barn -- hope Alex can get better guys and save us from his predecessors

We would be better off brining up the golden arms once the new manager and PC is brought in And if they do have a 10 under 500 year, a new manager will be brought in Alex will do something this off season if things are not much better -- I have confidence cause Alex is a competent guy
