With us just living about 2 hours away we've been to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock many times over the years, it leave me speechless to see these videos. This guy did a heck of a job getting this footage.

Leadership at our church just got back from taking relief supplies to the area and getting it to the victims, and I can assure you it is much worse than what is being reported.
To boot, FEMA was and is woefully prepared, equipped, and funded to help as much as they should be.... and meanwhile we just sent a other $150 million dollars in humanitarian aid to Lebanon while announcing FEMA just doesn't have the money right now to do more for those along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachia.
Every American should be furious about this.

Every American should be furious about this. The damage is catastrophic. It literally looks like a war zone. Now Milton is targeting central FL Tuesday and Wednesday as a Cat 3 hurricane. I can't say enough that this is another dangerous storm also. Please, please anyone in or near the projected path take precautionary actions starting now. Heed the advice of local officials and weather authorities. Evacuate if local authorities advise. Please act now, do not become a victim. -PA

Horrific damage. I have only seen videos. I can't imagine how this looks in person up close. It became clear as Helene approached and drifted slightly to the east that 15-20" of rainfall was going to cause major flooding in the mountains just near and to the east of its path. SW NC where 20"+ were forecasted became the bullseye for the heaviest rainfall triggering catastrophic flooding and mud slides over a large area.

Every American should be furious about this. It's just us rural hillbillies that are affected so the media won't report it fairly. Some liberals are even laughing and celebrating. Unbeknownst to the brain dead idiots that Asheville is the most progressive city in NC. And that hasn't stopped non progressives from feeling sorry for them, praying for them and providing help in all ways possible. Because we kind of see things a little differently than they do.

The federal government's response has been despicable. It's what we could expect from the evil "leaders" we have. The feds trying to deny supplies and trying to keep locals from helping should get them shot. People's lives are still at risk even now. If you ain't going to help, that's one level of evil, trying to stop the locals from helping each other.....mmmmmm......
That's nice of them to offer rakes to people. With bar codes so they could be returned. While we're giving illegals two years of rent free homes and feeding all of our tax money into the farce in Ukraine.
God bless your church for the efforts.

The lack of honest media coverage has been evil as well. Even in my area, two hours from Asheville, I hear every day people saying things like "it's going to be at least another week or two before those people get their power back on" without even knowing it's a little more than people's power being knocked out--entire towns are completely gone, thousands of people still not accounted for......just a little more than waiting for the power company to get the power back on. Damn......

Damn...... We don't have an honest media any longer. The media is little more than Pravda. It's just a propaganda arm of the global elites and the left.

Fox News has reported a lot on Western NC but MSNC has completely ignored it.

We've all seen the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Florida and the western parts of NC were his especially hard by flooding. Our own wncbravesfan hasn't been online since early evening on the 26th and while we assume he's safe until we know otherwise, he undoubtedly has some things he's dealing with. So if you are the praying type, please take a moment to pray for him and the 100's of thousands of others affected by this storm. Thanks, The management. THANK YOU everyone for your concern. We are all safe, in my family. We had 14 inches of rain over 2 days, THEN the hurricane arrived and sat over us for 2 days, dumping so much water they said it was like Niagara Falls plummet us for 4 days. Rivers, streams, lakes enlarged like you wouldn't believe. Massive mud slides and homes literally went down streams, rivers and scores of people died, many are still missing. My daughter's house was flooded with 3 feet of water, she sat on her refrigerator w/ her 2 cats and scared of the rising water. Her car flooded. Her horse, in a different location at a friends bar, DROWNED. My office was safe but we have no city water in Asheville, any maybe won't for weeks or months. Most of our coveted, award winning watershed was basically ruined and they are working feverlishly to repair the massive 36-inch main line. The downtown is akin to a ghost town. Most of downtown has power restored, and my office now has internet. My personal house is high on a hill overlooking 16 acres and w ponds, normally. Cane Creek came out of its banks and there was basically a LAKE encompassing the 16 acres and did not recede for a day & a half. We had no power for 14 days, no internet, cable even now. The are we live in looks like a war zone with an acopylistic feel to it with trees down everywhere and power and telephone lines strewn about. Joe Biden & Kamala Harris each came to visit us .
