The other thing to consider is how diluted the talent level already is in the major leagues. Raising the roster limit would just make that worse. We already may be at a point where the pitching quality is already fairly well raped, expanding the rosters for more pitchers is going to make that even worse. How many teams have bullpen problems already right now? If there were talented replacements available they'd be turning to them, but they just aren't there.

True enough but at some point it may just be that arms rhat are still attached to the shoulders are needed. Burning out the limited number of available MLB bullpen arms isn't going to do anyone any good either.
Honestly the thing that needs to happen is that baseball organizations need to handle this themselves by not burning up starters by max efforting every single pitch. Either that or we are going to have see multiple inning relievers. Something has to give... teams just can't keep burning 6 pitchers every night.

I agree and I think the answer is in managing arms like human arms should be managed and not expanding the rosters.
Expanding the rosters at first glance seems like a good idea, but it's not really addressing the problem. It would create other problems and the arms still won't be handled the way they should be.

Which do you think is more likely? Not the right thing.. but the more likely..
Teams on their own managing arms better, or the players union or the owners lobbying for expanded rosters.
I think the temptation is too great for teams and they will continue down the same path of max- everything on every single pitch.
