Our bullpen is stretched thin, Smith-Shawver needs to eat innings tonight.

Chavez looking like he's headed towards the 15 Day IL after telling trainers and Snitker he still feels extremely sore this morning, despite initial x ray and additional testing at the hospital were negative.
This pitching staff cannot afford another injury now.

Man, if we can survive all these injuries, I am sure we'll be fine, but we've had our share and then some this season.

Looks like RAIN in Hotlanta tonight ? The alleged time of this rain has been changing all day. First it was 4... then 6-7... now maybe not until 9..

Olson finally slid down in the order for tonight's game-- weather permitting.

I'm no PA but it looks to me the rain and storms are rather limited in coverage area st this time on radar-- most of the more widespread stuff is down around the southern end of the state. Could perhaps see a delay but wouldn't expect a postponement.

This even worse than when they show up for the first day of camp when pitchers and catchers arrive. They've both got a long way back before they are out there throwing 6 effective innings.

sportstalkatl.com is so in depth there... Yeah, it's pretty obvious to everyone he has had some control problems, but they got it 180 degrees backward regarding that last game talking about the control issues with his slider being the main problem. Looking at the game again, he couldn't locate the fastball and put too many right in the middle of the kill zone. That's why 3 of them left the yard. It was that lack of control with the FB that led to all the 86-87 sliders for 3+ innings. I was concerned it was because something had happened to his arm, but he was really throwing all the sliders because he was putting too many FB belt high middle. Later he finally went back to the FB a bit but still wasn't putting it where it needed to be. I'm still a tiny bit concerned about 97-99, but even at 96-97 that fastball is deadly because of it's movement and his ability to locate it at and just above the very top of the zone.
