I guess the other good news tonight is that the rest of the division lost. They suck too. True. We’re nearing that point again where we could be the only team over .500. It feels like we have a lot of problems and we’re still 10 games over. Which is because we’re whipping up on lesser teams. We have a long way to go to start matching up with top teams. We do, but it's a long season. Just have to endure while we hope Fried gets right. Olson is very streaky so maybe he will cut down on the strike-outs at some point and go on a run.

No reason to panic?
We have problems beating good teams.
Olson is a .230 hitter and strike out machine and who has looked anything not resembling a GG fielder.
Michael Harris is a negative war player who doesn't look anything like last years version.
Austin Riley has basically stopped hitting for power.
Strider, although getting strikeouts, doesn't seem as dominant as last year. His velocity has also dropped a few ticks. 98/99 last year is 96/97 this year. Anything to be concerned about? Who knows? One thing for sure though is that Strider isn't the sure thing he seemed to be last year. In his defense he has been the subject of poor felding. (see previous reference to Olson)
The bullpen is crap. Minter, once a reliable reliever, is getting smoked. Jimenez stinks. AA lost out on that trade so far. McHugh tossing those 79mph frisbees is a joke. I say we should make a play for Atoldis Chapmen. Fried won't be back until at least the AS game. And Wright? Who knows?
Above average and unexpected performances from both Arcia and Elder along with just an incredible year from Acuña has helped this team stay on top.
Is it time to panic? Maybe just not yet. But there are a ton of improvements that need to be made...or we'll end up looking a lot like we did last nite.

In 2021 entering the playoffs the Braves were not nearly the best team...if you remember the bullpen had been a mess most of the season. But the got healthy and they got hot at the right time and AA made some shrewd deals mid-season and they won it all. So I'm not panicking in May, especially when they're ten games over .500 and leading the division easily.

I trust our guys to come around and AA to address needs by the deadline.
