Too early for this tread, I know, but can this team contend? I say.......maybe, but it is a VERY long season.

Too many unknowns!
I'd say too many things have to go right for it to happen. I don't expect it to play out with us contending.
But it's been a blast so far!

We are improved for sure. That’s what matters

I dream of another 1991. That was such an unforgettable season. I remember telling myself the bubble would burst for that team just like I'm telling myself that now, but it never happened. Man I would love to see that again.

The Braves are off to a great start. That can't be disputed. I hope they can keep it up. For what it's worth, I predicted a roughly .500 season.

The keys are pitching and separating ourselves from the past few years. Can't let the first losing streak get to the team mentally. Really think that's important.

Also can't let winning get to our heads and we end up keeping Snitker around.

All credit goes to Dansby Swanson and his glorious hair.

All jokes aside, Dansbo is playing like a first round pick.

Dansby is just getting lucky, it's certainly not from any hard work or attempts to improve. I read on my internet machine that he didn't care and didn't ever try to get better. And it was some guy who really would know who said that.

I'm gonna hold my judgement for a little longer. Especially since our first road series was in Colorado.

Also can't let winning get to our heads and we end up keeping Snitker around. I have never been a twitner supporter. But he has done well thus far. Yes. I can point out a few games or a few calls. But he is defensively subbing great. BP management has been acceptable and you can’t argue the result. If we can just get rid of peter borjunk then I am happy. And chuckie the great base on ball pitching coach.

Agree with everything that's been said. Both the starting rotation and bullpen are too inconsistent and too unreliable to provide any long term assurance of success. They've been getting a lot of production from the bottom half of the lineup as well...you never know how long that will last. I say enjoy it while we can.

A lot of us are predicting a .500 season or close to it, with a bright prospect going into the 2019 season. I am enjoying this hot start, but I don't think it will continue like this.
