*** WEATHER UPDATE*** METMAN WEATHER SERVICES℠ 27 Apr 2023 10:50 AM EDT NW Atlanta Metro Area BRAVES GAME FORECAST (12:20 PM EDT)
Game Time Forecast: Cloudy and cool with a chance of showers and just a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm. Temps in the upper 50's to low 60's (57°-63°) . Winds E 5-10 MPH G15. Max gust 22 MPH. Precipitation (mean) generally expected to be <0.1".
Showers from a weak upper level disturbance are affecting northern GA this morning. Shower activity should move out by 9-10 AM and become intermittent throughout the early afternoon until showers and a few thunderstorms initiate from the effects of an upper level shortwave in the Mississippi Valley. Current HRRR model run is indicating a slightly heavier shower, possibly a light thundershower, in the metro area before or early in the game time period. Also, the RAP model also indicates a slightly heavier shower but a little later i.e. between 1 and 2 PM EDT. In any case those showers are forecast in those model runs are relatively light at 0.1-0.2" total. I'm not putting much credence in those yet as they were from the 7 AM model run but it's something to keep in mind. Currently, the models are certainly more congruent with any heavier showers being late in or after the game time period. That being said it's certainly possible, but not as likely, to get a somewhat heavier shower or thunderstorm at any time this afternoon but I would expect that even those would only be in the .25" range. Gotta go the window is out now and the noise is loud.
Update: As of 9 AM EDT (13Z) run both RAP and HRRR above models have backed off any heavier precipitation and are forecasting < 0.05" throughout the game time period. That's reason for optimism. Radar looks clear for now but I expect showers and a thundestorm or two to develop later this afternoon and evening (hopefully after the game).
-PA GO BRAVES!!!

Wright allows leadoff walk, then gets next 3 (2 by strikeout). It took 20 (13) pitches.

Olson may make it to 250 k’s this year, Riley isn’t far behind either.

Grissom/Albies aren't adept at turning the DP

That should have been a DP. Lazy toss by Grissom and lazy throw by Oz..
Oh well... no harm

Looks like some showers will be arriving around 1:15 PM. Hopefully they stay light enough to play through before the heavier showers arrive later. These are the early ones hinted at in the 7 AM model runs. Although they shouldn't be heavy a total accumulation of 0.1" can be very annoying and ultimately force a delay.
