As a team, I do think I have the right to say the Braves did not have their heads in the game in that 8th inning -- I do think there was a rare time of quitting or, at least not being into the game Did you see that inning? It was bad news bears at the MLB level That is what happens when your pen walks the dog at the park -- one of the worst innings in the franchise history -- it was bad And I hope that some guys who were the culprits in that inning do not get over it, get angry enough to play better and do not forget that inning the rest of their natural born life -- I am not forgiving for that I do not think guys quit except in rare circumstances -- maybe it was the weather or what ever but some guys did not earn their pay today But being that the team is made up of players, is it right to criticize their mental fortitude? I say criticize the ability all you want, but to proscribe thoughts to them is over the line, IMO. Did these guys quit today? I don't even know where you can begin to believe such a thing. Not when players are human and to be human is to err. These guys tried. They just failed. Doesn't mean they didn't want to win. Just my two cents. Very rarely I accuse major league athletes of quitting -- could the weather have gotten in their heads, the walking of the pitchers through the inning, I do not know but something took them out of the game mentally -- that to me is not unfair to say THis should never be forgotten -- if I were in that FO someone would be made an example of that is for sure -- someone should pay for this with their job

In fact, quitting is the very last thing I would ever think of as a reason for a negative outcome in a game.

Yea, I am just very upset and angry over this game so I am venting -- but I do think the weather did get in their heads and that is not a good excuse but a reason I do not want to accept right now -- I am mad -- I think I am going to shut my posting down for a couple of days I am so upset right now -- I do not want to be hateful or foolish Peace and hope they can do better -- I do not think I am watching for a couple days to take a break from this -- its not good to post when you are mad as fire so I need to log off -- Peace to all

I really think what we saw today though was just your typical April baseball and teams all around the league are doing it..blow outs, bad pitching, sloppy plays ect. It always happens to everyone early.

I said it in the other tread where the word quitting was used.
There was no quitting. The players in question just couldn’t hit the broad side a barn with a bucket of water from 6 inches away.

It usually happens after really bad games. Nothing wrong with that.

It’s still just a game.

I was cussing at the TV as much as anybody while it was going on, but within 5 minutes of the game ending I was over it. The players will be too. They have to have that mentality. You can use it to motivate you but if you let it weigh on you it will do nothing but harm. As a fan, carrying it with you does absolutely NO good. Like one guy who has claimed he would never get over this game even if we won 5 World Series in a row. That guy is beginning to make me laugh!

Yeah don't get me wrong... I was yelling at our announcers for thinking it soo funny when Ozzy kicked the ball around. I was mad when it got to 5. I flipped when Ramirez hit a batter on an 0-2 count with 2 outs.
I'll always talk about how mad I was in the moment, but the moment has passed.

I’m pretty sure no one could successfully run a business without understanding how to compartmentalize anger, control it, deal with and move on. Doesn’t mean you ignore it all all either. But there’s a time to deal with and move on and come back from it and the quicker the better.
