Don't know about a billion, but looks like he made him a big ol mess of money. Kobe made $400M and apparently didn't invest nearly as much as Buster did.
It was a pretty good investment no matter what he made, lol........What did Kobe invest, $6M? And made $400M? Wowzer.
Maybe I'm misreading it, but it looks to me like there were 6 investors and they sold if for $5.6 billion. If Buster invested more than Kobe I could see it being a billion, same as the other four guys. But maybe I'm reading it wrong, I don't know.

Yeah, that's a helluva return. Kinda like hitting the lottery when that happens, especially when you figure in all the competition. BTW, he doesn't deserve the Hall of Fame, but they'll probably give it to him anyway. That's how political it's become.

Sounds like there were 6 athletes who endorsed it. I'm sure there were considerably more investors than just those 6 athletes.

I always liked Buster but damn, it's still kind of sickening to see rich people get way richer.
I'm all for capitalism, but there's a point where people accumulate so much that they can then reap almost unfair amounts after that.

Yeah, it's a dilemma what to do about that very tip top of wealth. I mean, you don't wanna stifle investment or innovation, and you don't wanna punish people for being successful, but I wish there were some way to bridge the gulf between them and families who work hard, play by the rules, and barely make ends meet. Not much you can do, really. They buy influence and slimy politicians gladly sell it. It doesn't affect my day-to-day, so I just get up and do my thing and don't worry about stuff like that.

Same here, the rich don't really affect me either, I've been very lucky (and worked ridiculously hard) to run a successful small business for 25 years, and I've managed to not be hit with this recent wave of wiping out small businesses. That's become the problem--the big tech companies and big money families have accumulated so much money, power and influence they've made it brutal for the little guy. I have a real problem with that even though it hasn't affected me. It's just wrong. It does bother me because I know so many people who had worked as hard as I have and lost everything.....so the rich can get richer. I don't mind when the it all trickles down and helps the middle class the way it is supposed to, but when they hoard the money and then use it to destroy the middle class....terribly wrong.

You're not wrong, and big tech is to blame more than anything else. All the money that used to flow throughout our economy now stays with Amazon, Apple, etc. It's wrong and they need to be broken up. It will happen at some point, just like it did after the industrial revolution, but it will be too late for too many.

Yep. I think there is a plan to do another round of lockdowns, even more severe, to wipe out the rest of the small businesses that did survive, or maybe an attempt to use the vaccine mandates to shut them all down--the illegal mandate (not legal according to the Constitution) that they are trying to set for companies with 100 or more employees is supposedly going to extend to every single business in the country regardless of number of employees. But I think there's going to be a big enough push back to keep it from happening. I really hope I'm not wrong because it would be disastrous if it all happens. At any rate, ol' Buster Posey is going to be ok regardless.

Sounds like several guys like Posey made 8 figures, but only Kobe made 9 figures. Like you said, ol' Buster will be alright, though.
