Huge win for those around since 99. That WS had no wins at home and no wins period. It would be amazing if we could end this in 5 or 6.

Again... are you nuts? See how he is?? Ian is your game 7 starter if it gets there. No question. But if the plan were one pen game could you come back with Fried in game 5 and Ian in game 6 that is what the other poster was refering to Excuse me if I did not word it right or come up with my thought right Yea guess I am nuts yea Coming back with Fried in game 5 was why I wanted to pull him earlier in game 2. I thought we left him in too long for that reason. That game was over in the 2nd inning.

I think the plan is 2 pen games then Fried. As for Ian - they will have to see how he is if the series gets that far - I see Fried in game 6 and Ian in maybe 7 if needed. Would be good to see Smyly go an extended effective outing. All hands are needed on the deck. He has a career record of 4-0 in the playoffs.
To you that should mean he's in line for the Hall of Fame.
He keeps this up he might wind up being Pettite or Smoltz like. Health permitting

With the Asterisks playing in a warm climate with a retractable roof, I think the weather was to our advantage tonight, they aren't used to many games like this. They looked very uncomfortable all night like they did not want to be out there playing a baseball game. They were late on their swings all night and none of them looked comfortable.

Glad for the under 30 crowd - this is the first time for nearly all of them. Maybe some vaguely remember 99 To finish this at home would be the best - where would the parade be - at the battery or downtown

I am still rolling over "they will have to see how he is.."

I still think it would be worth thinking about Fried going in game 5 and Anderson coming back in game 6 but it would be a risk
Might as well stay with the 2 pen game plan and have them both rested if this has to go back to Houston

Both would be going on 3 days rest. As good as our pen has been I can almost see trying to ride them out, but at the same time those guys can only have so much in the tank. We could end up burning out all 4 of our big backend bullpen guys. It does help that none of them had to throw a lot of pitches tonight. But I have a feeling Snitker won't hesitate to try to throw every one of them out there both tomorrow night and Sunday night and take his chances that Fried or Anderson can come through in Houston if needed. One advantage to considering using those guys on short rest is they are both young and it should be a lot easier for them. It's a tough call either way. Maybe it depends a lot on how tomorrow night goes.

I went to my first Braves game in 1975 - it was a Richmond Braves game. Went to a lot of Atlanta Braves games in the 80's as well including Richmond and Greenville Braves. Was watching the rainout game vs St. Louis in 82. Was mention 99 because any fan younger than 25 isn't old enough to remember it or wasn't here.

Such a bummer to lose Morton but sometimes teams with a lot of injuries can get over adversary. I also think of the Hawks and how Trae Young got hurt in the NBA ECF.

I’m thinking if we win tonight that Snitker might consider starting Fried on Sunday. He managed that way against Milwaukee, choosing to use Morton short rest to go for it and end it in four games. Of course since Morton was not sharp then Snitker might feel like he learned a lesson there. But again with Fried’s age it would be easier for him to pull it off.
